All eyes will be on Suwon Samsung as the 17th round of the Hana Bank K League 2 2023 resumes after the soccer A-match break. After suffering a shocking relegation, the ‘Famous Family' Suwon hasn't been performing up to expectations in the K League 2. Suwon's five-game losing streak led to coach Yeom Ki-hoon “Legend” Yoo to take over the reins. Looking to rebound, Suwon put their fate in the hands of Byun Sung-hwan, who had shown promise with the U-17 national team.

Byun's first game in charge was a 1-1 draw against Busan, ending a five-game losing streak. However, Byun was disappointed with the performance. With only a short training session, the team has had two weeks to prepare, and now is the time to see the real Byun Sung-hwan. “We will play aggressive and dynamic soccer while sticking to the basics,” Byun said at his inaugural press conference.

Suwon have focused on refining their tactics through training and practice matches.  Of course, Tungara and Kim Hyun are still not 100%, but they have shown promise in attacking soccer. Suwon will meet Gyeongnam FC at 7 p.m. on the 15th at the Changwon Football Center. Suwon is currently in sixth place with 20 points, 스포츠토토 and with only one point separating them from fourth-place Gimpo FC, they can leap to the top of the table if they win this match. Suwon will be hoping to keep the momentum going with a quick win to change the atmosphere.

However, their opponents, Gyeongnam, are in a similar situation. Gyeongnam has recently suffered back-to-back losses and has fallen to 12th place (15 points). Gyeongnam has also beaten Bae Soo-jin, so a fierce battle is expected. The first matchup between the two teams ended in a 1-1 draw.

It will be interesting to see how far the Jeonnam Dragons can go. Jeonnam is the hottest team in the early part of the season. They are unbeaten in their last six games (5 wins, 1 draw) and have quickly jumped up to second place. It's their best run in years. Jeonnam's strength is their offense. Although they have conceded 21 goals, they have scored the second most goals (25), behind only Seoul Eland (30). During their six-match unbeaten run, they have scored 14 goals.

The centerpiece of their offense is Kim Jong-min. The forward has nine goals and three assists this season, ranking second in K League 2 in both goals scored and most offensive points. He is the only Korean player currently in the top five of the K League 2's top scorers. Kim Jong-min has also been in fine form, scoring a point in all but one of his last eight matches.

Jeonnam will next face Bucheon FC at home on Nov. 15 at 7 p.m. Coincidentally, Jeonnam's six-match unbeaten streak also started in Bucheon. Jeonnam defeated Bucheon 4-3 back then. Bucheon will be eager to avoid defeat as they are unbeaten in their last four matches (2 W, 2 D) thanks to a solid defense that has only conceded one goal in their last four games.

‘Leaders' Anyang will travel to high-flying Seongnam FC at 7 p.m. on the 16th, while Gimpo, who suffered a defeat after three straight wins, will host Ansan Greeners at home at the same time. Needing to turn things around, ninth-ranked Chungbuk Cheongju and 10th-ranked Cheonan FC will meet at Cheongju Sports Complex at 7 p.m. on the 16th. Chungnam Asan and Busan will meet at Cheonan Stadium at the same time.
