Review

In the Indonesian market, Suzuki Ertiga is known for its spacious cabin and fairly economical fuel consumption. Following the success of Toyota Avanza, which has dominated the LMPV market segment since 2003, Suzuki also prepared the R-III (R3) concept and made its debut at the 2012 Auto Expo. Suzuki Ertiga has experienced seven variants since 2013, : Ertiga GA M/T, GL M/T, GL A/T, Ertiga GX M/T, Ertiga GX A/T, Ertiga SPORT MT and Ertiga SPORT AT. Let us review Ertiga.

Suzuki Ertiga entered the compact MPV competition with its 7-seater configuration. At the same time, the third generation was launched in May 2018, and the second generation upgrade was launched on January 15, 2020. Launched as MPV Segment C, Ertiga is assembled in Indonesia through Cikarang's Suzuki factory. Earlier, Ertiga had a diesel engine. But currently, Ertiga only offers K15B 1.5-liter 4-cylinder engines in Indonesia.

In 2018, Ertiga launched its second generation, which has the same HEARTECT platform as Baleno, Ignis and Swift. The second-generation Suzuki Ertiga is back in GA, GL and GX variants. So far, the second generation Ertiga has undergone two complete installations in 2019 and 2020.

The Highest variant: Suzuki Ertiga Sport

Suzuki Ertiga Sport was launched in March 2019. This car is the highest variant of the Ertiga in Indonesia, priced from IDR 250 million to IDR 260.5 million. Let's take a look at the what configuration in Suzuki Ertiga Sport has changed  compared to the previous generation.

1. Appearance

The Sport theme on the outside is obviously different from the rest of Ertiga. Suzuki Ertiga Sport wears a beautiful black honeycomb grille on its face. It is different from the elegant lines on the regular Suzuki Ertiga. The front bumper has also been modified. , LED DRL (Daytime Running Light Boomerang Model) has also been added. However, the headlights of Suzuki Ertiga projectors do not yet have LEDs.

2. Interior

The cabin change is the most obvious change in Ertiga Sport. Because of the darker interior, you can immediately see the difference between it and previous generations of cars. Except for the roof, the dashboard, seat door panels, etc. have all changed from beige to black. Ertiga Sport gives a sense of luxury. Although the seat table of Suzuki Ertiga is still covered with fabric, the steering wheel has been wrapped in leather. Wooden plaques are also added to the steering wheel and dashboard.

3. Infotainment Function

The 8-inch touch screen multimedia system with USB and Bluetooth connection functions effectively drives the fatigue of the driver during driving. The screen also has the function of simultaneously displaying images taken by the parking camera. Below is a modern digital communication panel with automatic mode. The smart key with start-stop button allows the driver to easily unlock and start and stop the engine without removing the key.

4. Safety Performance

The safety of this car is also more perfect than the ordinary Ertiga. In addition to ABS (Anti-Lock Braking System) brakes with EBD (Electronic Brake Force Distribution), vehicle stability control and hill keeping control are also used exclusively for Suzuki Ertiga Sport.

5. Performance

This is very unfortunate. Despite its sporting title, the performance of this car is not even significantly improved compared to other Ertigas. The 1.5-liter K15B engine produces the same output as the non-sport version of the Suzuki Ertiga. The power produced is 104.7 PS and the peak torque is 138 Nm. The performance is transmitted to the two front wheels via a 5-speed manual transmission or a 4-speed automatic transmission. The driving stability and control are the same as the non-sport Ertiga. The suspension, feet and steering system have not changed at all.
