According to Techaide, Kafui Prebbie is a technology entrepreneur who has a “long history of activism in ICTs for Development internationally, in the quest to partner highly skilled and passionate professionals of integrity to affect lives and make the world a better place!”
According to Pyxera Global, he “has vast experience in cross-sector technology integration, training and managing development projects funded by USAID, European Union, BritishCouncil, International Institute for Communications and Development (IICD) and the Partnership for Higher Education in Africa (PHEA).”
With Techaide as his baby, Kafui has introduced a number of innovations that seek to improve education in Ghana and West Africa.
In November 2015, Techaide rolled out edulab. As reported by Ghanaweb, “EDULab was designed to give students in first and second cycle schools a practical use of technology, while accessing a comprehensive database of scholarly materials.”
At the launch, Kafui Prebbie stated that EDULab does not need internet connectivity to work making it possible for schools in rural communities with little or no access to the internet to benefit immensely from the project.
This technology enables students to have access to a plethora of learning materials. This bridges the knowledge gap, ensuring that students from all over the country are given the same level of opportunity to access the same kind of information.
Aside EDULab, Techaide also launched a device named “Asanka” in August 2018.
ASANKA is a system that compiles and delivers rich content in a user friendly and easy to access format hosted on low cost, low powered durable device. ASANKA is the Ghanaian word for “community bowl�; it is a free information delivery architecture for relevant content for all.
The content comes in various formats and is compatible with wireless devices.
Speaking to Kasa Biz, Kafui Prebbie said that “We want to address how people access content and how they can do so cheaply and easily”. This sums up what he wants to achieve with Techaide.
