The Australian Financial Review Best Places to Work list is out yesterday, and there is so much here to unpack. I’ll post the link to the article in the comments below, but if you don’t subscribe to the AFR, here are the excerpts from the article and highlights:
#5 – Carman’s Kitchen
Carman’s Kitchen brought in their First 365 Days onboarding program to improve engagement from new starters. First 365 Days achieves this by actively onboarding individuals into technical aspects of their role and into Carman’s Ways of Working while also identifying their personal Ways of Working over the first 12 months of employment.
Prior to First 365 Days, engagement from new starters was 8% below that of the broader company. Following the program’s introduction, engagement from new starters is now at 100%.
🔹 20% of global employee turnover occurs within the first 45 days of employment. This is a company that gets onboarding right.
#10 – Laminex Australia
Full disclosure, Laminex is a client and the Head of People, and Culture Laura Staples is a friend. Even though they are a client they are a new client and I had nothing to do with them appearing on this list (for the second year I might add).
I have watched this organization go from strength to strength under Laura’s leadership. From hosting a podcast for the entire company where they bring in global thought leaders, to being one of the first organizations to offer a “work from anywhere” policy in May 2020, to reimagining recruitment, learning and development and employee experience, it’s been a privilege to share ideas with and learn from Laura. And now it’s a supreme privilege to call them client.
