Now that it has been officially announced that the Season 6 of The Expanse will be the show’s last, the viewers are now eager to know what the show will resolve in the remaining two outings. Cas Anvar not making a return as Alex Kamar in Season 6 has been another big announcement that has made headlines. Now, the fans are speculating over the character’s future and the sudden exit of Cas Anvar. Ever since the investigation began against him for sexual misconduct allegations, it was almost sure that he would not appear in the final season. However, if the reports are to be believed, Anvar was ousted after the completion of Season 5, so the recent developments won’t have any impact on the upcoming season.
Alex has shown to be longing for his family in the first four seasons of the show. He even mentions that his family is unaware that he is alive. However, later on in the series, he struggles to hide his adventures throughout the galaxy, as a crewmate of James Holden on Rocinante. The Rocinante crew is separated in Season 5, with James Holden on Tycho Station, overseeing its repairs while Naomi is on a mission to save her son. Amos has gone to Earth for the women who took care of him as a child, and Alex has gone to Mars.
It is almost certain that he will meet Bobbie Draper and probably find himself wrapped up in Mars’ collusion in the Inaros’ war. It won’t be surprising if he never has the time to go back to his family that he left behind for reconciliation. While the alternative is just as likely, and Alex might just go to his old home as soon as he reaches Mars. He must be eager to reunite with his family. However, it seems unlikely that the reunion will lead to a tearful reconciliation since Alex has stayed away from his family by choice.
Alex will likely get himself involved in Bobbie’s conspiracy to ignore his problems. But irrespective of how complicated the situation might be, it would undoubtedly be the last season the fans will see Alex. Although there is a possibility that the show will recast someone as Alex, there have been no such official announcements regarding it from the show’s creators. We will have to wait for season 6 to finally see how the show concludes and what happens to Alex.
