This is on the grounds that when Volkswagen concluded that the time had come to begin adding more variations to their model line-up, but they were at first hesitant to plunge their hands in the little vehicle filed. Accepting that the Beetle is the littlest they ought to go.So as opposed to spending the assets in R&D to make a vehicle littler than the Beetle, they chose to get the Audi 50 that was presented in 1974.

The Audi 50 was sold uniquely in Europe, and was at that point considered by motoring crooks to have shown up later than expected to the little vehicle game. By the by, Volkswagen still bounced into the conflict in 1975 with the 3-entryway Polo.

The Audi 50 was only available in Europe, and VW was at that point considered to have shown up later than expected to the little vehicle game. Despite this, Volkswagen entered the small-car game in 1975 with the three-door Polo. When the two models were sold together, the Polo was marketed as a more basic version of the Audi 50, although some of the differences were slight.

Despite the fact that it isn't expressed in any of Volkswagen's or Audi's history books, however the choice for VW to rebadge the Audi 50 into the Polo could originate from Audi's arranged change into bigger and more extravagance vehicles also.

Since the Audi 50 was just sold from 1974 to 1978 preceding the model was hacked out, that is an extremely brief time of presence for a vehicle. While the Polo proceeded to sell 500,000 models by 1979 and delighted in 6 ages of updates.

The sixth generation has not yet been sold in the Malaysian market, but according to the right-handed driving market behavior of Volkswagen, we predict it will come soon.Singapore began selling the car in 2018.But in the meantime, the  fifth-generation Polo with a final traditional gearbox is still on sale in Malaysia.
