I knew I was going to enjoy our Raja Ampat trip, but I didn’t expect to enjoy the way we travelled through it quite as much.
I was there with a few friends, and from the beginning, we agreed not to make the trip feel like a checklist. We wanted to explore, take photos, swim, eat well, and mostly just enjoy being somewhere beautiful together.
That became much easier once we got on the yacht.
We spent our time aboard the Jeeva Samudera yacht charter, and honestly, I really liked the yacht. It had the kind of atmosphere where you could be doing absolutely nothing and still feel like you were having a good day.
Why the Yacht Made Our Raja Ampat Trip Even Better
Usually, when I'm travelling, I’m eager to get off the boat and explore.
This time was different.
We'd finish whatever we had planned for the day, come back aboard, and somehow end up staying there for hours. Someone would be sitting outside, someone would be taking photos, and the rest of us would just be talking about completely random things.
There was plenty of space for everyone, which made travelling with friends really easy.
Nobody felt like they had to be together all the time, but whenever someone started a conversation or suggested doing something, everyone seemed to appear.
Raja Ampat Was the Perfect Setting

The funny thing about Raja Ampat is that the scenery doesn't really need an introduction.
You look outside and there is always something worth looking at.
Sometimes we'd be passing dramatic islands, sometimes the water would be completely still, and other times we'd just sit around watching the landscape change as we moved.
I took way too many photos.
Most of them were probably unnecessary, but that's what happens when you're travelling somewhere like this with friends. Someone sees something interesting, everyone gets their phones out, and five minutes later we're all comparing photos.
The Best Part Was Having Our Own Rhythm
One thing I really enjoyed was how naturally our days developed.
There wasn't this constant feeling that we needed to hurry.
We could have breakfast, spend some time outside, decide what we felt like doing, and then see where the day went.
Some of my favourite memories were actually the completely ordinary moments.
Sitting around after lunch.
Making fun of each other's photos.
Finding a comfortable spot and staying there longer than planned.
Watching the water while talking about where we should travel next.
Nothing particularly dramatic happened, and that's exactly why I liked it.
Evenings Were a Different Story
The mood changed completely once the sun started going down.
We'd usually end up outside together, especially when the sky started turning orange.
One evening, we were all sitting around and talking when someone pointed out how quickly the colours were changing.
For the next few minutes, nobody really said much.
We just watched.
I've travelled enough to know that those quiet moments can become some of the strongest memories later.
You don't necessarily remember what you talked about. You just remember being there.
I Really Liked This Trip

Looking back, I think what made this trip work so well was the combination of Raja Ampat, good friends, and a yacht that we genuinely enjoyed spending time on.
Jeeva Samudera didn't just give us somewhere to sleep between adventures. It became part of the experience.
We laughed a lot, ate together, spent ridiculous amounts of time taking photos, and probably stayed outside much longer than we should have.
If I could rewind the trip and do it all again, I honestly wouldn't change much.
I'd just stay a little longer.
