Preparation

Prepare the washing station— use a bucket or clean your sink. If you opt for the sink, warm the water first, then cover the drain with a washcloth. Keep the water level below your cavy's neck.

Placement

Put your guinea pig in the water. If he gets too wild, use the bucket instead to keep him from roaming. Rub the cavy shampoo into the fur, avoiding the ears, mouth, and eyes. Rinse out the soap with water.

Pamper

Take out your cavy of water before he gets too cold. Use a washcloth/soft towel and then the hair dryer to dry him thoroughly— be sure to set it on the lowest level. While using the hairdryer, don't make it too close and avoid the eyes, mouth, and ears.
