Things to Do in Gulmarg In 1 Day

Gulmarg Tour Package has many things to offer. We decided to take a day trip, even though we would love to spend a night there. We decided to spend the night there the next time we visited in winter.

We left Srinagar early and were soon out of the city. We were immediately shown what to expect from the day when we first saw the mountains. We soon reached Magam, which was a small village along the way.

We finally reached Tangmarg, the point where the uphill road begins. The landscape changes slowly too. Slowly, the mustard fields and plains are being replaced by tall pines or cedars. The green meadows were soothing for the eyes.

We soon reached Gulmarg which was our destination for that day. It is small, but it houses the bus stop and parking lot. It is a tiny hill station that relies on tourism. The market area is home to many shops and restaurants. This area is home to many guides and ponies. Outside cars are not permitted beyond this point.

We were greeted by a group of ponies owners and guides as soon as we arrived at the parking lot. They will approach you and ask you to ride a pony or help with the guides. You can take a pony ride if you want. It will benefit the local economy.

To explore this area, you don't need a guide. The places are clearly marked, and a guide is not necessary to tell the stories.

Ponies are not required to visit Gulmarg if you enjoy walking around. Although not too far from the attractions, they are still easily accessible. You can explore the area on foot if you're staying overnight. Let me tell you about what we did.
