Summers are approaching! This means we have a longer daylight and relatively shorter nights. Warm temperature affects the sleeping routine of a person. So, in this blog we are giving tips on how to cope up with sleeping issues in summer?Your body is naturally wired to sleep to produce heat. When the weather is already warm, the heat of the body comes into the foreplay of sleeping routines. Circadian rhythm/clock is the body's internal rhythm clock that sends signals to the brain that it's time to sleep. According to the circadian rhythm, the body drops its temperature near the bedtime. This natural decrease gives signal to the brain “it's time to sleep!” But dropping the body temperature becomes difficult when the atmospheric temperature is a little high or even when the weather is humid.

However, not only summer’s high temperature affects sleeping cycles but also the sunlight. The daylight is great when you are working because it keeps you active throughout the day. But it’s harder to fall asleep when the day is brighter than the morning and in the evening. Whatever the situation might be you need to have an alternative strategic plan to have a quality sleep. It is recommended that we should only use doctor approved mattresses and Bed accessories.

This summer don’t let your sleep float in the swimming pool. Follow the given tips to have a good sleep:

  • Be out of Sun Rays: Choose dark color bedroom curtains that can soak-in all the sunlight. Also, your room stays cooler throughout the day and night.
  • A cold water bath before the bed: Bath relaxes the body. So, help yourself by sleeping after a cool shower before the night time sleep.
  • Opt for Gel Foam Mattress : Since, your body produces heat. You need to have a mattress with cooling technology. Also, invest to make your bedroom cooler.
  • Have a chilled glass of water: A glass of chilled water before the bed helps to lower the internal body temperature.
  • Watch out for your sleeping position: There is a huge possibility your sleep position might be a reason for producing heat, instead of retaining it.
  • Sleep in lighter clothes: Try to resist heavy clothing while sleeping. Heavy and dark colored clothes trap heat faster and the body is unable to breathe properly.  So, look for breathable and light-weighted clothes.
  • Make your bedroom cooler: There should be a good circulation of air in your room. You can invest in rotating fans or coolers to ensure this. Opting an air conditioner also helps.

We hope this article helps you to sleep this summer.
