British Television series fans have lucked out due to the partnership between Channel 4 and BBC with Netflix. Netflix now has a right over the classics, the old and new sitcoms and a full bunch of different genres that the fans are now able to enjoy. Here is a list of our top-rated British series on Netflix

Bodyguard (2018)

Bodyguard is about a policeman, David Budd played by Richard Madden from Royalty and Specialist Protection Branch of London’s Police Service, whose job involves high risk, especially as a Bodyguard to the UK’s Home Secretary, played by Keeley Hawes. Crashing (2016)

With only six small episodes, Crashing is a light-hearted binge-worthy series that you can sit through a lazy weekend and finish it. Crashing is an unusual comedy-drama series with a different plot. It explores the relationships of 20 something people who are property guardians in a hospital.

The show is about those who try to make it big for themselves in a world, where the protagonist usually gets the bigger piece of the cake.

Co-produced by BBC and HBO and written and directed by Ricky Gervais, Extras is filled with stellar cameos of popular stars and is one of the highly enjoyed sitcoms.

Flowers (2016 – 2018)

Olivia Colman has the ability to bring extra charm in all her characters, and with Flowers, she proves it again. A black comedy-drama sitcom, Flowers is a story about a depressed father and a children’s author (Juliann Barratt), his music teacher wife (Olivia Colman) and his 25 years old twins.

Most of the time, you will either find yourself relating to the scene or just having a good laugh over them.

Sherlock (2010)

Benedict Cumberbatch is someone who is so blessed, that he perfects anything he does and with Sherlock, he does it again. Based on Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s book, Sherlock Holmes, Sherlock is created by Steven Moffat and Mark Gatiss, which also stars Martin Freeman as Dr Watson and Andrew Scott as Moriarty.

Sherlock received accolades for its writing, acting and direction and has been awarded some of the prestigious awards of the Television.

Monty Python’s Flying Circus (1969 – 1974)

British surreal sketch comedy, Monty Python’s Flying Circus stands out for incorporating absurd situations, sight gags. The first episode was released on 5th October 1969 on BBC 1. The show was very popular in the United Kingdom and gained popularity in America in the 1970s, which led to the live tours of pythons, creating three more films.

Peaky Blinders (2013)

Peaky Blinders is a British period crime drama series about a gangster family of Birmingham during the first world war starring Cillian Murphy, Sam Niel and Helen McCrory. The series has been loosely inspired by true stories of gangsters based in Birmingham during the early 19th and late 20th century. The show has released 5 of 7 episodes that it plans to release in the coming years as they believe that it would take seven episodes to complete the story. British TV series are highly appreciated and have a variety to offer, ranging from classics to sitcoms to black comedy and thriller and so on.
