“It is extremely unlikely that Bayern Munich will sign Eric Dier to an extension beyond the end of this season,” Germany's Bild reported on March 23 (KST).
Bayern Munich announced the signing of Eric Dier last month on the club's official website and other official channels. The deal is a one-year contract until June 30, 2024, with an option for a one-year extension. Dier has been given the number 15 shirt he wore at Tottenham Hotspur.
Dyer, who joined Spurs from Sporting CP in 2014, has made 363 appearances in all competitions for the club. Entering his 10th season with the club in 2023-2024, Dyer has played 197 games as a center back, 136 as a defensive midfielder, and 25 in other positions, making him an integral part of the team regardless of ability.

“Dier was a highly questionable signing, even within Munich's own ranks. He has been used five times since his move from Tottenham. “He was brought in as a backup in case of injury, but it was Tuchel's initiative to bring him in,” the report said.
“The truth is, there have always been questions about Dyer. Especially his basic defense and physicality. I think his biggest problem is that he's 30 years old, he's not fast, he's slow, and he can't defend.”
