Learn while playing video games? That's how it is! Starting from the 35th anniversary of The Legend of Zelda, we tell you 3 educational video games and their benefits.

The world-famous and acclaimed video game, The Legend of Zelda, celebrated 35 years of being released this week; On February 21, 1986, it hit stores in Japan to stay around the world.

“The Legend of Zelda is not just a video game, it is a whole story that demonstrates the importance of the balance between courage, wisdom, power, and strategy, ” said José Carlos García, a former student of the PrepaTec campus Cd. Obregón, current student of the communication area at the Guadalajara campus. You may also be interested in Math it Right 3D Adventure

As is well known, Zelda is an RPG (Role-Playing Game) of the action and adventure genre, so we ask ourselves: Can a non-educational game teach?

The answer is, of course, yes! For this reason, we recommend 3 video games that, although they are not precisely designed to be educational, when played they have

1. The Legend of Zelda

As expected, The Legend of Zelda is the first video game that we recommend, since despite having an entertainment approach with action and adventure, the player unconsciously acquires many useful knowledge and skills during the game.

“Definitely my favorite game in the series is Breath of the Wild, the physics of the game taught me to relate more to the environment and to know how to use it to my advantage ” as mentioned by José Carlos García, a former student of PrepaTec Cd. Obregón.

Although all the games in this saga leave you a lesson, fans like José Carlos guarantee that it is the best video game of all time.

2. Minecraft

The Minecraft famous game of construction, launched in 2009 and created by Sweden's Markus Persson, represents nothing more and nothing less than one of the most popular games and acclaimed over the past decade.

And if that weren't enough, Minecraft also leaves you a world of knowledge! yes, literally a world, as this game is about letting your imagination run wild and building everything you can think of in your own world.

Developing skills such as creativity, imagination, critical thinking, and organization, and bringing urban, environmental, and building insights, Minecraft has become a favorite with many.

 3. Assassin's Creed

Last but not least, we recommend the Assassin's Creed saga, in which you will fill yourself with historical and social knowledge.

“The Assassin's Creed saga is a very fun way to obtain a lot of information about the history of the world ” shared Francisco José Rodríguez, professor of languages and social sciences at the Tec campus Cd. Obregón.

Professor Francisco added that Assassin's Creed: The Origins is the best game in the saga if you are looking to learn history, and although the entire saga has a historical plot, this specific game makes the player feel that he is part of another era. and learn from it.

 An apprenticeship in each Videogame

Finally, Professor Lemuel Ochoa, Coordinator of Information Technologies at the Cd. Obregón campus highlighted that we can find learning from all of our activities, or in this case, from all the video games we play.

“Everything that is done, finally, leaves a learning in the human being, and depending on the approach, this can be very positive, as long as it is taken with adequate criteria …” commented Professor Lemuel.
