To meet the state’s demand for skilled migration, Western Australia has raised the number of occupations eligible for migration by almost 60% for 2022–2023. Both Schedule 1 (WASMOL Schedule 1) and Schedule 2 (WASMOL Schedule 2) of the Western Australian Skilled Migration Occupation List (WASMOL) have been updated.

Key changes to WA Migration Program 2022-23
As of July 1st, 2022, the Western Australia Government has implemented several changes to the requirements for new applicants.
Some of the key changes for the WA Migration Program 2022-23 include:
- A waiver of the $200 application fee
- The removal of the requirement to show enough funds for the WA State nomination
- Reduced English requirements for applicants at the Manager and Professional occupation level to the “competent” level of English
- New occupations have been added to the Western Australian Skilled Migration Occupation List Schedule 1 and 2.
