In season 2 of Star Trek: Discovery, we had our minds blown when USS Discovery traveled far into the future, i.e. in the 32nd century mathematically more than 900 years away.

The first trailer of the ‘Star Trek: Discovery’ Season 3 has alluded to who the people on-boarded on USS Discovery truly are.

If you are not caught up or haven’t watched any season of the CBS All Access owned Star Trek: Discovery, no worries. CBS All Access is here to help you. Considering the popularity of the show, CBS Access now has rights for the entire first season which it will air starting September the 24th. You better start preparing because season 3 will be arriving on CBS network not later than October the 15th.

Now, If you have watched the series, you can remember that in season 2 USS Discovery had travelled to the 32nd century (more than 900 years into the future) and now they have stumbled upon an odd planet. The protagonist of the show Michael Burnham (played by Sonequa Martin-Green) soon discovers that there is life on that planet. However, the inhabitants are forlorn because an unexplainable incident simply known as “The Burn” have left them spiritless. Now, Burnham and USS Discovery take it upon themselves to fix the galaxy and get people out of misery in order to restore faith in the federation.

The icing on the cake is the kindness of the show producers to follow the much-needed demand of inclusion of underrepresented sections of the society. The franchise has already shown inclusiveness and still they are ready to launch their first-ever non-binary and transgender actors who will be making their debut in season 3. Blu del Barrio will personify the character Adira, an inhabitant of the mysterious planet in the 32nd century who soon finds familiarity in USS Discovery. The character has been described as “highly intelligent with a confident and assurance well beyond their years,” the character befriends Dr Hugh Culber (played by Wilson Cruz) and Paul Stamets (played by Anthony Rapp), the duo holds the pedigree of being the first same-sex couple to be a part of the ensemble cast of a Star Trek project.

Ian Alexander will play the role of Gray; a Trill Symbionts portrayed on screen for the first since Deep Space Nine. CBS All Access described Gray as an “empathetic, warm and eager” in his endeavor to fulfil his lifelong dream to be a Trill host but he will have to adapt to the unexpected changes that he is going to encounter in his life.

Ian Alexander will also be the first transgender Asian-American actor on television. Star Trek: Discovery is really going a long way in ensuring diversity in their cast and crew. The third season of Star Trek: Discovery will premiere on CBS All Access on October the 15th. Full Season of the first instalment will be available from September the 24th (part of which premiered on ArchLight Hollywood in 2017). The trailer can be watched on YouTube.
