When your cat has watery or weepy eyes that occur infrequently, this does not warrant immediate concern as it could be a normal reaction. However, if this has been happening all day, every day, this could indicate that there is debris or something unusual irritating your cat’s eye or her tear ducts. In addition to that, it could also be indicative of an allergic reaction of some sort.

If you notice that your cat’s eyes are getting watery or weepy, you must dry them lightly or wash them off especially when it is draining to avoid it from drying and becoming crusty or gunky on the inner corners of their eyes. Aside from that, you may also purchase eye wipes from pet stores or online to clean out the gunk that is draining from her eyes. On the other hand, if you notice that the substance draining from your kitty’s eyes is thicker than usual with a consistency similar to mucus, contact your veterinarian immediately since this could be a sign of infection. When this happens, make sure to separate your cats if you have more than one to prevent the others from getting infected until you figure out the cause.

Any sign of illness exhibited by your pet should require a visit to your veterinary hospital Greater Cincinnati for proper medical attention.
