The Central Board of Secondary Education does not bifurcate the subject of science until secondary school. As such one may find the inclusion of Physics, Chemistry and Biology in a single subject, and a single book that is Science. Science as a whole not only makes the subject less complicated but also creates a sense of relief unburdening the students with unnecessary complex topics. Having said that, CBSE Class 10 Science has clearly made a distinction between the chapters and one can easily understand which chapters belong to which part of Science. CBSE Class 10 Biology consists of 6 chapters. They are: Life Processes, Control and Coordination, How do Organisms Reproduce, Heredity and Evolution, Environment and Management of Natural Resources.

Heredity and Evolution

Heredity and Evolution is one of those chapters in CBSE Class 10  Science that answers a lot of doubtful questions that students have. If students read this chapter carefully they will be able to understand Heredity, Inheritance, and Speciation. They will not only learn about the various ways in which human genes can mutate but also get an idea of how biologists carried out experiments to produce mutation in plants which have proved to be beneficial for the utilisation of the human race. Environment

The chapter on the Environment deals with the various types of modes of nutrition that plants and animals dwell on. The different components of the environment, that is Abiotic and Biotic Components. This chapter will let students have an understanding of the ecosystem, the trophic levels, the food chain, and the flow of energy. It also emphasizes the law of conservation of energy.

 Management and Natural Resources

 Management and Natural Resources can be considered as a chapter in which one can understand the importance of nature from a biological perspective. It states about the pollution in the Ganga river, the importance of managing our natural resources, and ways through which one can conserve these resources. This chapter is an eye-opener for the young generation to make them aware of the various problems that our environment is facing and to take action according to the ways that have been highlighted in this chapter.
