How to copy selected text
You can easily copy and paste text on your Chromebook. Chromebook shares similar methods to Windows and MacOS. Here is how to do it.
- Go to your Chromebook touchpad and click down using one finger, and through another finger, surround the text with an invisible box that you wish to copy, and after doing free your both fingers. Through a mouse, click and hold the left button and go down to select your desired text and then release the button.
- After selecting the text, use shortcut Ctrl+C to copy the text. Or right-click the mouse button and choose the copy option.
- Press Ctrl+V to use the copied text where you want. Or right-click the mouse button and choose the paste option there. Use the Alt key when pressing a touchpad and click both fingers on a touchpad.
Your copied text will remain in the clipboard until you copy the new text again. You can use copied text at many places. After pasting the text, you can set the text in your desired font and style.
How to copy images and videos
- Locate an image or video that you want to copy, and then take the mouse pointer over it and do a right-click.
- To copy a photo, choose the option called Copy Image Address or Copy Image from the pop-up.
- To copy a video, select Copy Video URL, Copy Embed Code, or Copy Video URL from the pop-up window.
- To use the copied video or image content, hit Ctrl+V at once, and the text will be pasted at that place. Or choose the Paste option from the pop-up menu after right-clicking the mouse button.
How to copy a whole web page
You can also copy a whole web page. A copied web page will include everything available on the page, like headers, buttons, and more. Here is how to do it.
- Tap anywhere at the webpage, not on an image, and then use Ctrl+A at once. Now all the content available on the web page will be highlighted, meaning you have selected all.
- Don’t do any activity and instantly tap the copy command: Ctrl+C. And all selected text will be copied.
- To use the copied text, hit Ctrl+V, and the text will be pasted where you wish to use it. Or hit the right mouse button and choose the Paste option there. You can also use the Alt key when you tap a touchpad or press both fingers on a touchpad.
