Only a few minor changes have been made since the Lexus RC 2023 went on sale in the US. It still has the same 5.0-liter V8 engine, which produces 472 horsepower and 395 lb-ft of torque. It is then fastened to an 8-speed automatic transmission made by Lexus, which sends power to the back tires. Over time, horsepower has increased by a few points, but that's about all.
For the 2023 model year, the RC F arguably received its largest change to date—at least on the inside. A 10.3-inch center touchscreen with built-in Apple Carplay and Android Auto is now available as an option for drivers. It is a pleasant improvement to a cockpit that has been using the same clunky Lexus touchpad unit for a while.
You also get carbon fiber inside accents and 19-inch matte black wheels with Michelin Pilot Sport 4 S tires. Although it is referred to as the “Carbon Package,” you also receive other non-carbon, non-performance features like heated and ventilated front seats with leather trim, a heated steering wheel with a power steering column, and park assist.
The Lexus is far less powerful than rivals like the BMW M4, Mercedes-AMG C63, Audi RS5, and Cadillac CT4-V Blackwing, but it is also much more affordable. Additionally, it's the only one still providing a V8 and natural aspiration.
