Every blogger/ digital marketer wishes to receive tons and tons of Organic Traffic from Search Engines. But, getting organic traffic from search engines was never a piece of a cake walk. Because you are not the only blogger who is competing to rank first in Google Search Engine Results. You have got millions of competitors online who wish to rank first in Google. You might have even seen my recent publication 101 Most-Wanted SEO Tips & Google Ranking Factors for ranking higher in SERP.

That’s huge.

Why Buying Backlinks
Why Buying Backlinks

One among those factors to rank high in the search engine is Link Building.

Link Building isn’t a new age concept. It has been there for a long period of time. The purpose of link building is to get backlinks from other websites.

But, what is Backlinks?

Backlinks are nothing but the redirecting-links towards your web pages. When one page is linked to any page then its labeled as a backlink for that site. Previously backlink was a most important ranking factor in the calculations of Google PageRank, the page which has a large number of backlinks got the top ranks in the search results.

As per the above definition, a page with a lot of backlinks is expected to rank high on all major search engines including the Google.

Look, I mentioned it to be expected.

What does that mean?

By having 1 million backlinks from low-quality websites, you can expect to rank higher than your competitors. But, you will never. Because Google is constantly rolling out algorithms to penalize websites with low-quality backlinks. But, it is true?

Will Google find out that you are getting backlinks from low-quality websites?

Let’s find out.

How selling backlinks take place at Fiverr?
The hunt for backlinks has brought so many unethical practices in the past. That even continues today in a different form.

Different form? How?

Nowadays, it takes place through Fiverr.

But, what is Fiverr?Fiverr is the world’s largest Freelance service marketplace. Here, freelancers post their services at Gigs, whose pricing starts from $5. If you are interested in using that service, that you can contact the freelancer and get their service by paying that fee.

But, this is also the same place where tons and tons of spam backlinks are sold for a very small price.

Here is a screenshot for the search result showing backlinking services at Fiverr:

Here freelancers offer these spam link building service with a lot of decorative words to attract you. So, what happens when you use this kind of services? Will your website land up on the first page?

If that happens, then everyone would be buying backlinks from Fiverr. Then why should thousands of digital marketers spend hours crafting quality content for guest posting?

To prove my point, I will compare my website (OnlineRockersHub), with another case study website that involved in buying backlinks from Fiverr just for $5.

Let’s see some comparisons and decide whether we can buy backlinks from Fiverr or not:

Comparison 1: Organic Search and Backlinks

To do this comparison, I am using SEMRush, which is a popular SEO tool.

Here is a domain overview search for this case study website and my blog.

Organic Search and Backlinks
Organic Search and Backlinks

The case study website has got 42.6K backlinks, but it is just receiving only 1 visitor from Google Search Engine every month.

On the other hand, check out my website (OnlineRockersHub). It has got just 2.4K backlinks, but I am receiving 124 visitors every month from Google.

I do accept, SEMRush does not display the exact traffic that you receive from Search Engine. But, however, the difference is proportionate. So, comparing two websites from data obtained from SEMRush reflects the reality.

Coming back to the topic, even after having, 40,000 more backlinks than my website, why is that case study website not able to get more organic traffic than my site?

Comparison 2: DoFollow vs NoFollow Links

I use SEMRush for this comparison too.

The following screenshot shows the DoFollow vs NoFollow links pie chart for different websites. To get more accuracy in comparison, all the websites chosen for this comparison belong to similar niches.

DoFollow vs NoFollow Links
DoFollow vs NoFollow Links

As you see the case study website is on the left. The yellow part of the pie chart indicates, it has got too many nofollow backlinks. It means that the website has received thousands of nofollow backlinks, through buying links at Fiverr.

And coming to the next website, that’s mine. I have a majority of nofollow backlinks. But, still, I have a considerable amount of dofollow links. However, all those nofollow backlinks that I received so far came from manual blog commenting. For the sake of link building, I made a list of top DA websites on SEO niche that accept blog comments with a website link. And, then I started commenting on those blogs regularly.

The next website is our ProBlogBooster. It has got a good number of dofollow backlinks over the period. However, the number of nofollow backlinks is still higher than dofollow links.

The next two websites namely WpBeginner and Labnol are the most popular websites in WordPress and Internet Marketing. When I mention popular websites, I mean, they dominate search engine results in their respective niches.

Look how their pie chart is different from the rest of the three websites. They have a huge amount of dofollow backlinks. And this huge amount of dofollow backlinks pass link juice and help them rank higher in search engines.

Comparison 3: URL Rating Distribution

For this comparison, I am using Ahrefs, which is another popular SEO tool.

The following image shows how URL Rating Distribution of the Case Study Website and OnlineRockersHub.

URL Rating Distribution
URL Rating Distribution

When you look at the case study website, you can notice that their best backlinks come from websites with URL Rating 20-30.

On the other hand, when you look at my website, you can notice, my best backlinks are from domains with URL Rating 40-50.

As I mentioned earlier, my website receives more organic traffic than this case study website. So, it clearly indicates that the URL Rating (i.e. Page authority) of the website, where you get backlinks is also important.

Note: If you check the backlinks of the Case Study Website at SEMRush and Ahrefs, you will see a big difference. This is because they use different algorithms.

Summing up:
From the first comparison we understood, it is just not any kind of backlinks that can land you up in the first page of the search engine.

The second comparison lets us understand that you have a better chance of landing on the first page of Google if your ratio of DoFollow Links vs NoFollow links is higher.

And the last comparison tells us that you rank higher if you get backlinks from high authority websites.

So, let's combine all these three comparisons,

“To rank higher in Search Engine, receive DoFollow Backlinks from High Authority Websites”

So, now from these comparisons, we get a clear idea that buying backlinks is of no use. It will never lead you to high rankings in Search Engines. Focus on getting dofollow backlinks from High Authority websites.
