40g qsfp+  is the optical module package type is qsfp+ (four-slot small form factor pluggable), that is, a four-bay small pluggable optical module. This type of packaging was created to meet the market demand for higher-density, high-speed pluggable solutions. The whole system consists of a 38PIN connector, electromagnetic interference (EMI), optical transceiver, heat dissipation components, copper cable assembly, MTP optical cable assembly, optical loop, etc.


Appearance size:

This optical module is only 30% larger than the standard SFP module. The original design purpose was to replace single-channel SFP with a high-density optical module. Due to the limited space of the device frame panel, the number of fiber optics is limited. If using a standard SFP or 10Gbps XFP connector, the number of channels that can be supported is limited by physical space. Qsfp+ can combine more transponders and receivers in a smaller area




This optical module mainly realizes the connection of 40g high bandwidth fiber optic link over 12 core fiber optic cable with MPO/fiber connector. MTP can also realize 4x10g duplex mode connections by connecting four 10gbase-sr fiber optic cables.
