Aotearoa Surf School was founded in 2002 and was one of the founding surf schools in New Zealand. Aotearoa Surf is owned and operated by Che, a local surfer who has a devotion for all things related to the ocean. He has a passionate, experienced and qualified team of instructors from the local area who pride themselves on giving everyone the best experience and memories as possible.
The yoga retreat NZ is also a part of style and therefore many beginners often go for advanced surf boards that are smaller in size. Since they do not have enough knowledge and experience they often find that they are unable to handle the surf boards while they are in the water and that only adds to the embarrassment. Hence, you need to select your surf boards as per your requirement and not as per the style. You can initially focus on the surfing techniques and basics and than go for the style when you know that you can handle stylish surf boards.
We operate out of the most beautiful beaches in the Auckland region, including Te Arai, Mangawhai, Orewa, Omaha, Pakiri and Waipu Cove. Our main two beaches, Te Arai and Mangawhai are just 60 minutes north of Auckland’s CBD. These beaches boast clear, blue waters and consistent, fun waves. You will be guaranteed the best, most consistent waves from Auckland to Whangarei when you surf with Aotearoa.
A lot of surf schools sell your basic ‘surf experience’. Instead of this, we aim to teach you how to surf by yourself. We give YOU the confidence and knowledge to be Auckland Surfing on your own including ocean safety, understanding conditions, understanding your board, how to read the waves, we EMPOWER you.
