Malaysia Genting Malaysia Bhd\'s Malaysian operations "will return to surplus after the second quarter" this year, but the group\'s "attraction" caused by Empire Resorts Inc, which operates Resorts World Catskills in upstate New York, "needs to be resolved soon," it said in a note from Nomura Banking Group on Wednesday. 메이저사이트

First-quarter earnings at the flagship resort World Genting Casino Resort (pictured) near Malaysia\'s capital Kuala Lumpur "are likely to be affected by the closure for about a month," Nomura analysts Tushar Mohata and Alpha Aggarwal said.

The resort\'s World Genting casino complex resumed operations on Feb. 16 as infections surged locally after being shut down for more than three weeks due to COVID-19 countermeasures.

At Resort World Genting, the Skyworld outdoor theme park is currently scheduled to open by mid-2021, Nomura said in a note on Wednesday, adding it was an "audition" for hiring park staff.

For Resorts World Catskill, the U.S. Nomura team said casino operations were "likely to retain losses right now, but the threshold for related party trading could limit both Genting Malaysia\'s backing until September 2021, otherwise trigger shareholder votes."

Genting Malaysia\'s loss-sharing of Empire resorts in fiscal 2020 was 285.1 million yuan ($69.2 million), according to a Feb. 26 filing with Bursa Malaysia. Genting Malaysia acquired a 49% stake in the association in fiscal 2019.

In addition, at Resorts World Casino in New York City, run by Genting New York LLC, a company controlled by Genting Malaysia, Nomura expects "machines to remain at an average of 4,500 units due to social distancing requirements" in fiscal 2021, while win/machines will remain below US$400 per day.

"For Mississippi Tribal casinos, we\'re not very optimistic about the right-back prospects for damage in 2018," Nomura also said, referring to stalled ventures that have seen Genting tied to plans for U.S. tribal casinos in the northeastern United States.

The country\'s casinos, along with other indoor hospitality venues at its UK casino operations in Genting Malaysia, will be part of a "third phase" of emerging from local lockdowns but "before May 17," Nomura analysts said.
