Security staff and cleaners working inside the casino, as well as table game dealers, must now perform nucleic acid tests every four days and prove their COVID-19 “negative” status. These employees also need to perform rapid antigen tests every four days.

Casino employees had to test for nucleic acids every seven days before the new rules were announced. The latter requirement was in place for about a month.

The most recent regulation was corroborated as GGRASIA by Chloe Chao, head of the New Macau Game Employees' Rights Association, a local game labor movement organization. She said the measure is already being implemented by the city's casino industry.

Employees should report ‘negative' test results to authorities and display them in their Macao-issued electronic health code.

In recent weeks, Macau has recorded some cases of COVID-19 among people not under quarantine. One of the most recent cases is a 33-year-old man from mainland China who visited a casino at Star World, a property run by the Galaxy Entertainment Group.
