North Indian Tempeh Curry 

Here we start by marinating our tempeh with lemon juice, garam masala, and salt. Then in a pan heat oil or butter add basic spices like bay leaf, cinnamon, cardamom, cloves and cumin and add onions, saute till onions are translucent. Now add your marinated tempeh and fry for 2 minutes, now goes your ground spices like turmeric, chilli powder, coriander powder and tomatoes and cook. Now add water with the consistency you like to have and cook till 15- 20 minutes now season your curry with salt and garam masala. Garnish it with coriander leaves or cilantro.

Tempeh Makhani 

Now, this becomes interesting when you give it a twist with makhani gravy. Take a pan with 150 ml of water, add in tomatoes, little onions, 3 green chillies, ginger-garlic Add in bay leaf, cardamom, cinnamon, Kashmiri Lal Mirch, salt, 3 tbsp of butter salt along with a handful of cashew nuts. Put the lid on, simmer the gas and cook it for 20 minutes. Let the mixture cool down. Make a paste of it by grinding it. Now take a pan, add butter, slit green chilli and finely chopped ginger. Add your tempeh cubes and saute them. Add your makhani paste and little water and cook it till it bubbles. Now add in your cream, sugar and dry Kasuri methi. Garnish with cream.

Tempeh Tikka 

This can be your tandoori or grilled starter. Simply marinate your tempeh cubes with ginger garlic paste, salt and rest aside for 15 minutes. Make a tikka paste by adding Kashmiri Lal Mirch powder with some mustard oil and whisk till it gets red in colour. Add in your tempeh cubes by squeezing out the previous marinated liquid and coat it well with tikka masala and marinate for another 20 minutes. Now Grill it on a pan or in a home tandoor. Sprinkle chat masala on it and enjoy with simple green chutney and onion rings.

Tempeh Veg Biryani 

Soak your tempeh and rice to soften it. Take a pan and pour in some olive oil, add cumin seeds, onions and saute till onions get golden brown. Add in your vegetables like tomatoes, cubes, potatoes, peas, diced carrots, beans. Now add your softened tempeh and saute along with other veggies. Add basic masalas and salt according to taste. Add water according to the quantity of your rice and mix it properly along with others and keep it on a medium flame for 25 - 30 minutes. Garnish with fried onions and serve with raita and chutney.

Potato And Tempeh Curry 

Soften your tempeh by soaking it in advance. cut potatoes into medium cubes. Take a cauldron, add mustard oil as it gets hot, add in your spices ( bay leaf, cinnamon, black pepper, cumin seeds) Now add in chopped onions, green chilli and salt. After sauteing add tomatoes and masala ( turmeric powder, coriander powder, chilli powder) Add your soaked tempeh and potatoes and cook it with all ingredients properly. Add water according to the preference of your consistency. Boil and cook till potatoes are cooked. Garnish with dry Kasuri methi leaves and freshly chopped coriander leaves. And it's ready to serve with chapati and rice.

Fried Tempeh Cubes 

Soak your tempeh to soften it. Heat oil in a pan. Add cumin seeds and a pinch of asafoetida, add finely chopped onions and saute it for a while. Add chopped tomatoes, peas and basic masalas. Add a splash of water to cook masalas well. Now mix well and cook your veggies. Serve it as started or along with chapati.

Tempeh Tikka Sandwich

This can be a great leftover tempeh tikka dish. To fill shred tempeh tikka and add some mayonnaise, grated cheese season it with salt and black pepper. Take some sandwich bread, apply garlic butter or plain butter and toast it slightly. Now add in your filling layer some fine sliced caramelised onions, tomatoes and even lettuce close your sandwich. Now grease your toaster or grill tawa with butter or oil and grill it for 10 minutes. Cut the edges if needed. Enjoy it with pickled cucumbers and tomato ketchup.

Tempeh Cutlets

Now the dish here is specifically for our kids. They sometimes get bored of eating vegetables or they might not even like eating them. Here is a smart idea to make cutlets out of tempeh cubes.

Soak your tempeh and soften it. In a frying pan heat oil and cumin seed and saute till golden brown. Add vegetables, carrots, peas and cook till they are soft in texture. Add salt, garam masala, coriander powder and chilli powder and mix well. Add tempeh by grating it, boiled and mashed potatoes, coriander leaves and chat masala and mix well together. Rest it aside to cool down the mixture. Now make a cornflour slurry, shape your dough into cutlets or any desired shapes and dip into the slurry, coat it with bread crumbs and fry it in the oil till it's crispy and golden brown in colour. Take them off and place them over tissue paper to soak off extra oil. Sprinkle chat masala all over and enjoy with sauce, chutney and even onion.

Tempeh Namkeen Chat 

Boil tempeh and finely chop them. In a bowl add masala mixture namkeen, chopped onion tomatoes, green chilly, coriander leaves and now add in chopped tempeh. Add salt, chilly powder, black pepper powder, chat masala, lemon juice and mix it well. This is a simple and tasty tempeh namkeen chat.

Tempeh Burji

A perfect morning breakfast which can be served with chapati or even butter-toasted buns. Heat oil in a pan, add in some grated ginger and saute. Add in some finely chopped onions and saute until golden brown. Add green chilly turmeric powder and mix well. season it with salt, black pepper powder and garam masala. Now mix it and cook it. Garnish it with freshly chopped coriander leaves.
