Even if you want to help yourself very quickly, that does not necessarily mean your mind is. You must operate at a pace, which allows your unwanted thought processes more time to be properly removed or otherwise changed to your benefit. Another important and downright invaluable tool you can utilize is focus. Only use one form of treatment at a time, and be sure it is correct before partaking in it.
Stick with the treatment plan from start to finish, and try to refrain from researching other methods. Doing this tends to only confuse your mind further, and that will lead to an even greater detrimental effect on your success. If you try to utilize multiple forms of assistance or other treatments at the same time, you will find that even if the correct one is amongst them, you will not find it.
This is because your mind is being forced to take in so much different information on OCD behavior at once it does not have the means nor the focus to process any of it properly. Due to OCD being a habit instead of a disease or sickness, medications are not required. Not only do they aim towards suppression or short-term removal, but if used too heavily you may come to rely on them, which is certainly not a good thing.
If the right medications are used properly, however, they can speed up the process of overcoming your OCD behavior.
