America's rich history is told through many different mediums, including history books, documentaries, movies and mini-series.

Each student has had some sort of history class, where they learned about the United States' past. The changing flags used over the years are a unique way to track the history of America. Flags tell a colourful story of America's history.

Betsy Ross created the first American flag to commemorate the moment when America recognized the 13 colonies during the early days of "the United States". In order to pay homage to the 13 colonies, Ross designed a flag with 13 stars and stripes.

The flag was first flown in 1777. Although it's still controversial, many people consider it the "first official" flag of the United States. It is easy to recognize the 13 stars in a circular arrangement with red and white stripes.

This next flag, which is very well-known, has been used in many different forms since the 1800s. This flag's star can have anywhere between 13 and 34 stars in a pattern of stars. This flag has been used for many years with many different arrangements of stars.

The Great Star Flag became popular as a drape for President Lincoln's funeral. In later years, the Great Star Flag would be used as a sign of mourning at funerals or memorials to other assassinated presidents.

Old Glory is another flag that should be remembered when reminiscing about the history of America. It has been used longer than any other flag. Old Glory was originally given by Captain William Driver's mother to display on his ship.

It was the longest-ever used flag. The flag was available in two versions. It had 24 stars at first, but as more colonies became recognized, it changed to 34 stars. Old Glory has a sentimental value for many people because it has been used for so long and is well-known vlajkystatu.eu.

The Star Spangled Banner is well known to everyone, as it's sung in every sporting event or similar contest that involves American teams. It is a very well-known symbol from the 1812 War, when it flew over Fort McHenry. The song is what makes it so special!

The flags of the US may have changed, but they are all a colorful and recognizable piece of History.

Balch Flags offers a large selection of flags from around the world at affordable prices.
