Application for Permanent Residence Card

A PR card is required if you are a current permanent resident of Canada, intend to travel outside of Canada, or are taking a commercial mode of transportation, such as a plane or train, to get to Canada.

People who just received their Permanent Resident Visa will receive their PR cards in the mail at their Canadian addresses after reaching Canada.

How to Apply

Once you've determined which forms are appropriate for your situation, you can download the necessary forms from the official IRCC website. After gathering all the necessary paperwork, fill out the forms and submit them with your application. The application fee must then be paid, and you can go ahead and mail your application to the IRCC address through post.

After Applying

If your application is complete and delivered to them successfully, you will get an acknowledgement email from their end.  However,  your application will be sent back to your address if it is not complete.

Application Fee for Canadian PR card

The usual application fee for the PR Card is 50 CAD, however you must pay an extra charge and book a separate appointment if you need to submit your biometrics. A single person pays 85 CAD for biometrics, while a family pays 170 CAD.
