Gil is the main currency in Final Fantasy XIV and must be managed wisely to survive in Eorzea. From gearing up with level-boosting items to purchasing minions and mounts, it\'s essential for every player to possess plenty of Gil.
There are various legal ways of earning Gil in FFXIV without breaking any of its rules, such as questing, guildleves and completing dungeons.
Crafting
Crafting HQ equipment can be one of the most lucrative ways of earning f14 gil in Final Fantasy XIV. Disciples of Hand are adept at this, thanks to their wide range of synthesis and manufacturing skills; those with higher Crafter levels may make more per synthesis process.
Players can also make money through loot found from defeated enemies, typically sold at the Market Committee but sometimes found in treasure chests as well. Humanoid enemies such as Archadian soldiers or bangaa also leave behind some extra gil when killed.
Other ways of earning Gil include completing quests, guildleves, dungeons, and duty roulettes; farming ore, logs and plants in the fields for profit on the Market Board; or giving some of it away as compensation to their retainers; this latter method may prove particularly helpful when prepping for new patches.
Gathering
Gathering may be an essential way to earn FFXIV Gil, but it can often be seen as a time waster. Instead of spending their precious free time gathering FFXIV Gil they could use it better for crafting, undercutting raiding or simply playing other games - besides this the amount of Gil you collect per hour can differ widely depending on where your market lies.
Enemies will drop a small amount of gil when killed. Treasure caskets also contain this valuable commodity in addition to equipment and Materia. Finally, additional Gil can also be acquired through selling enemy loot.
High level players can make a substantial amount of gil by performing leves and deciphering Treasure Maps, but these methods require considerable time. As an alternative, it would be wiser for these players to purchase from trusted sellers in order to ensure enough for enjoying the game as fully as possible while still focusing on glamour items and mounts.
Auction House
In Final Fantasy XIV, the auction house (AH) serves as an in-game marketplace where players can purchase or sell weapons, armor and reagents of various kinds. Open to players of any faction and located across numerous cities around the game world, unlike real world auction houses like Christie\'s or Sotheby\'s which distinguish between Alliance and Horde items for sale, the AH does not discriminate between Alliance and Horde items sold here.
Players in Final Fantasy XIV can make Gil through various means, including daily duty roulettes, challenge logs, guild leves, selling materials on the market board and fighting monsters. Unfortunately, farming for FFXIV Gil can be time consuming and require considerable investment in its economy; additionally there may be risks involved with buying Gil as Square Enix monitors its transactions to protect its in-game economy and penalise players who purchase Gil. Buying may lead to account penalties that halt gameplay or even terminate the entire experience; additionally its unregulated marketplace makes fraud likely and is vulnerable against scams and scams.
Farming
Not only can players gain gil by completing quests, guildleves and the Duty Finder; they can also earn it by killing enemies in dungeons or selling items to NPCs. Furthermore, using the Duty Finder, purchasing items from stores or the Market Board and collecting in-game rewards will bring additional gil to them.
Farming in Final Fantasy XIV can be another effective means of earning Gil. Gatherers can find great success harvesting low cost materials and selling them at the Market Board; this method may prove particularly lucrative when prices drop due to players undercutting each other at the beginning of a new patch.
Crafters can easily earn large sums of Gil by crafting high quality items such as linen yarns and undyed flax velvet, which they then sell at a substantial profit. What\'s even better about this approach is that its rewards carry over into New Game+; additionally, players can gain additional supplies of Gil through daily roulettes, beastmen hunts and the weekly challenge log.
