Authors I'll Give A Second Chance

Fifth grade me tried reading I think it was Lucky or possibly Chances but I'm pretty sure it was Lucky but I put  it down. Oddly I picked it up a few years later and ended up reading quite a few of her books. I guess I thought reading Jackie Collins was research I needed to do. Anyhoo after seeing other people doing it I thought I'd join in and talk about who I would be willing to give another try.

1. Ilona Andrews: I can't remember the book but it was super hyped. Bite Me? It was a vampire book. I love urban fantasy so this seemed to be a good fit for me but I was really bored. I think the hype got to me. I'd be wiling to give her another try since I'm horrible at reading blogs and pretty much watch BookTube. Bad me. If I got recommendations I would try to make an effort to visit blogs in the hopes of people showing up here in return. It's just my back gets in the way of doing that. I have a shitty chair with no back support so long hours on the keyboard are out since that murders my back.

2. Meljean Brooks: This was another book I discovered on a blog that I visited. Behold the power of Swiss cheese brain. I can't remember it. I think it might have been some kind of changeling series unless I'm getting it confused with another. At around the same time I tried another author Nalini Singh who I discovered from the same blog that I can't remember the name of. The book I read was nearly finished. I only had about a hundred pages left but I just couldn't finish it.

3. Nalini Singh: I think she has a steampunk series that sounds interesting unless I'm getting it confused with Meljean I think with this author I might have picked up a book that was out of order. I didn't get so far along in the book I read. I do think it was a case of confusion because I didn't pick up the first book in a series. I'll be checking the library to explore my options and of course I'll make sure that I actually pick up the first book in the series I choose to try out.

4. Tahereh Mafi: I did pick up Shatter Me and never finished it. I'm not sure why. I might check out her middle grade series that I'm blanking on the title despite having the cover in my head. Furthermore? I think that's it and the second book just came out Witchwood.

5. Terry Pratchett: I don't know if it is illegal to enjoy reading Piers Anthony and this author. In theory I should love this author since the Discworld seems like a magical place that gives the same vibe as the Xanth series. I've tried a few times reading the first book in the series but maybe I should try another since this series doesn't have one set way to read it. The part about witches does sound appealing.

6. Neil Gaimen: Well I did end up giving this author a second chance when I listened to Coraline. I liked what I listened to of The Graveyard Boy but never finished since I'd rather read it. Maybe I just like his middle grade. I did try reading American Gods and stopped. The whole man eating vagina was a bit out there and it was confusing. I guess I might try another one of his adult  books to see if he's my kind of weird. I might try reading American Gods again when time has passed and it isn't mentioned.

I can't think of any other authors off the top of my head. So what authors would you be willing to give another try?
