Authors I've Read Part 1

Obviously authors are going to be left out because there's no way in hell I could remember them all. I'm just curious to see how many I can recall. So here goes nothing.

1. E.B White: When I was six years old I had to prove I could read Charlotte's Web before I was allowed to check it out from the library. It has stuck with me for some reason. I guess because it is about a pig. It is also the first book that made me cry.

2. James Lincoln Collier and Christopher Collier: My Brother Sam Is Dead would probably be my first young adult book but it was read in class.

3. Wilson Rawls: Where The Red Fern Grows was also read at school. I know it was about a kid and his dogs.

4. Laura Ingalls Wilder: When I was about six or maybe seven and rocking out to the Sesame Street theme song on the plane to Ireland I was reading the Little House books.

5. VC Andrews: I'm sure many of us that discovered this author started with Flowers In The Attic. I think I was in the fifth grade. They are twisted but they always suck me in. I've read quite a few of them. The ghost writer has done a good job of capturing the utterly twisted and fucked up stories.

6. Jackie Collins: This was kind of a research kind of thing. I thought everyone was supposed to be like the people in the books. I haven't read one in a while. I picked up Lucky around the same time as Flowers In The Attic but put it down but later started reading her when I was in junior high.

7. Stephen King: On the second trip to Ireland at the age of thirteen I was reading Stephen King.

8. Frank Herbert: I read Dune in I think sixth grade or maybe seventh. I'm not sure how many of the books I read but I do know that I read more than the first book. This was definitely my first science fiction read.

9. Margaret Weis and Tracy Hickman: Yep I'm the weirdo that read books based on a game that I never actually played.

10. Dean Koontz: I have read quite a few of his stand alones. He seems to have joined the masses in the whole series are invading the book world. It is interesting to see an older picture of him on a book compared to now. Dude there's something about you that I can't quite put my finger on.

11. Richelle Mead: I actually first read the first book in the Dark Swan series and it was before the whole Vampire Academy craze.

12. Seanan McGuire: Another gem I discovered at the library.  Okay most of my finds are from there because that's how I roll. I don't need no stinking Goodreads
