A cedar fence is a beautiful and long-lasting addition to your home. But before you can enjoy the beauty of your new fence, you have to install it. Here are the basic steps you need to follow for a successful cedar fence installation.

Tools and Materials Needed

You will need a few tools and materials before you get started on your cedar lattice fence installation. For starters, you will need a measuring tape, a level, a post hole digger, some concrete mix, wood posts, steel posts, brackets, screws, nails, wire mesh, and of course cedar lattice panels.

First things first – measure the perimeter of the area where you’ll be Cedar fence contractor. This will give you an idea of how many posts and panels you’ll need. Once you have your measurements, use a post hole digger to create holes for your fence posts. The depth of the holes will depend on the height of your fence.

Next, it’s time to set the posts in place. If you’re using wood posts, soak them in water overnight before setting them in the holes. This will help them resist rot and decay. For steel posts, set them in the holes and fill around them with concrete mix.

Once the posts are set, it’s time to install the brackets that will support your Fence installing services. For this step, you’ll need screws or nails – depending on the type of bracket – and a drill or hammer. Attach the brackets to the inside of each post making sure they are level before moving on to the next post.

Measuring and Cutting the Lattice

To ensure your lattice fence panels are the correct size, measure the distance between the posts and subtract 1/2 inch to account for the overlap. Then, measure the height of your posts and add 1/2 inch to account for the bottom rail. Cut your lattice panels to size using a power saw.

Before cutting, it is important to double check all of your measurements to avoid any mistakes. Once you have cut your panels to size, you can move on to installing them.

Installing the Lattice

If you're looking for Fence gates installation to some privacy to your yard without breaking the bank, a lattice fence is a great option. Here are the basic steps for installing a cedar lattice fence:

Start by measuring the area where you want to install the fence. You'll need to know the total length and height of the space so you can purchase the appropriate amount of material.Once you have all your materials, it's time to start installing the posts. Begin by setting the posts in concrete at least two feet deep. Make sure they're level as you go.Next, attach the rails to the posts using brackets or screws. The rails should be placed at least six inches above ground level so they don't rot. Finally, add the lattice panels to the top of the fence. Start at one end and work your way down, securing each panel with nails or screws.

Finishing Touches

After your fence posts have cured and the stringers are in place, it's time for the finishing touches.

Trim the excess stringer length with a saw, leaving about an inch of overhang on each end.Cut your lattice panels to size and nail them into place along the stringers. Start at the bottom and work your way up, overlapping each panel as you go.Finish off the top of your fence by attaching a 2x4 or 2x6 cap board to the top of each post. Make sure the ends of the boards are flush with the outside face of the posts, then nail them into place.Apply a coat of exterior-grade sealer or paint to all exposed wood surfaces to protect your fence from weathering.

Maintaining Your Cedar Lattice Fence

To maintain your Fence gates, you will need to regularly check for damage and repair any boards that are broken or cracked. You should also annually apply a clear sealer or stain to protect the wood from the weather and prevent it from drying out and cracking.
