WHAT IS THE BEACH LIFEGUARD QUALIFICATION

The Beach Lifeguard which is part of our Lifeguard courses Qualification is for any individual or company wanting to safeguard their beach or open water area. By completing a lifeguard class, participants gain the confidence and expertise necessary to prevent accidents, respond to emergencies, and protect swimmers of all ages and skill levels.

The Beach Lifeguard Qualification requires a high level of focus and fitness. The Beach Lifeguard Qualification is different to The Pool Lifeguard Qualification since it enables students to learn how rip currents are formed, the different types of waves, Flags, hand signals and further vital and interesting topics.

WHICH TYPES OF COMPANIES SHOULD DO THE POOL LIFEGUARD QUALIFICATION COURSE?

The Beach Lifeguard Qualification is suitable for all beach and open water operators and companies operating a beach or area of open water and requiring a licenced lifeguard.

This includes hotels, Beach Clubs, Public and private beaches, residential and community open water areas, outdoor adventure operators, water sports rental providers and water parks open to members of the public.

It is also suitable for individuals wishing to qualify as lifeguards for the first time, and those currently qualified and wishing to renew their qualification.

The course is also beneficial for swim coaches, school teachers, leisure facility staff, security guards/staff and anyone with a duty of care/safety role to protect people/keeping people safe around beach’s and open water.

HOW IS THE BEACH LIFEGUARD QUALIFICATION TAUGHT AND ASSESSED?

Both traditional ‘face-to-face’ classroom teaching and blended e-learning options are available.

It is recommended that a lifeguard should have 1 to 2 years working as a pool Lifeguard.

There are practical and theory elements to the assessment, both must be passed in order to gain the qualification. We will teach you everything you need to know for successful completion

IS THE BEACH LIFEGUARD QUALIFICATION CERTIFICATE AND LICENSE APPROVED IN DUBAI AND THE UNITED ARAB EMIRATES?

Yes. Upon successful completion of the course and exam you will receive a certificate which is approved by the Dubai & Abu Dhabi Regulators for Lifeguarding. You will also receive a first aid certificate which is approved by the Dubai Corporation for Ambulance Services (DCAS)

HOW LONG ARE THE BEACH LIFEGUARD QUALIFICATION CERTIFICATES AND LICENCES VALID FOR?

The lifeguard certificate and licence are valid for 2 years; the first aid certificate is valid for 3 years.

DO I NEED TO RENEW THE BEACH LIFEGUARD CERTIFICATE LICENSE?

Yes. You must renew your lifeguarding license every 2 years. To renew you must complete the full 40 hours of training to go forward for assessment again. Alternatively, as a renewal candidate, you have the option of completing the Blue Guard online e-learning program for lifeguards.
