Madhya Pradesh Police has decided to procure Belgian Malinois to their dog squad as they are more rugged sniffer dogs that are best known for their temperament and aggressiveness and can perform well even in extreme conditions.

Until now, the state police has been largely dependent on the services of Labrador, German Shepherd, and Doberman dog breeds.

Belgian Malinois dogs have been a part of several police force and law enforcement units across countries like Australia, Canada, Denmark, Netherlands, Russia, USA, and the United Kingdom.

The officials have already written to the state home department in their effort to procure 26 Belgian Malinois breed of dogs, especially for Naxal-hit areas and other elite forces that particularly deal with terror activities.
