Initially, when I traveled to Bali, the only thing I expected was the fun beach experience, sunset, and relaxation in the cafes. Indeed, Bali has everything mentioned above; however, one thing that shocked me was that Bali was also adventurous. Whether it is surfing or jungle tours, Bali can turn into a great destination for adventure lovers.

While I explored various Bali Tour Packages, I noticed that most of them offered adventure activities but, unless one knows which adventure activities are worth trying, they will be missing the best experience. Thus, without any further delay, here comes my list of the top 5 adventure activities in Bali.

Best 5 Adventure Activities in Bali for Thrill Seekers

1. White Water Rafting in Ubud

Among all the activities in Bali which started my adventurous journey, white water rafting in Ubud is definitely the one which deserves special attention. The beauty of the area, surrounded by green forests, waterfalls, and secret carvings carved on rock walls created a real spellbinding atmosphere around us.

The level of the river's rapids was quite moderate so that the activity could be suitable not only for experienced rafters but for absolute beginners as well. Most of Bali Tour Packages offer rafting opportunities as an exciting add-on option; therefore, we strongly advise choosing those ones providing transportation and guides service.

2. Scuba Diving in Nusa Penida

This experience was definitely one of the best in my life. I have always dreamed of visiting the underwater world, and Bali offered me such an opportunity.

Nusa Penida is known for its clear water and diverse underwater fauna. When I started swimming under the water, I witnessed beautiful coral reefs and numerous species of fishes swimming around and manta rays swimming gracefully under me.

Even if you do not possess diving skills, it is possible to take part in diving lessons. Moreover, many packages offered by Bali Tours include trips to Nusa Penida and diving/snorkeling activities there.

3. Mount Batur Sunrise Trek

It is certainly an experience whose rewards more than justify any hardship you may go through. The climb began at 2:00am in the morning. Though half asleep, my excitement was immense.

Though the climb to Mount Batur is not too hard, it does need considerable endurance. On reaching its peak at dawn, I found myself speechless amidst the breathtaking scenery. To see the rising sun over clouds amidst volcanic scenes—there could be nothing more surreal.

I would recommend the same to any hiker and lover of nature. Most Bali Tour Packages offer sunrise treks.

4. ATV Ride Through Bali’s Jungles

This one was sheer entertainment. If you like off-road driving, splashing of mud, and some degree of mess, you should not miss out on ATV riding in Bali.

I went through thick forests, muddy roads, rice paddies, and even some rivers. There were times when I almost got myself in trouble—now that was an exhilarating experience!

The ATV ride is ideal for both first-timers and seasoned drivers. Bali Tour Packages often provide ATV rides as part of their package, and this gives you a different kind of feel for Bali.

5. Surfing at Kuta Beach

If you want to go for adventure in Bali, there is no better place to learn to surf than Kuta Beach, which is exactly what I did.

Don’t get me wrong; I did fall down quite a number of times. But it was such a joy when I got to stand up on my board for just a few moments.

There are lots of surf schools along the beach that provide affordable learning lessons. And in case you are purchasing Bali Tour Packages, it’s important that you check whether surfing lessons come with them.
