If you have an American Airlines reservation and need to change your flight, but you're wondering if you can get a voucher if you do, the answer is yes, but only if your ticket is non-refundable. There are many ways to cancel your ticket and receive an American Airlines Travel Voucher, but the easiest is through phone calls. You must first cancel your nonrefundable flight using the procedure below to get a travel voucher:
Visit American Airlines' official website.
From the home page, select “Manage my booking.
Fill in your “Last name" and "Booking reference number."
Click "Cancel my flight."
Accept the rules and regulations.
Following that, you will receive a ticket cancellation message and a voucher for your canceled flight.
Do American travel vouchers expire?
Travel Vouchers are distributed in the form of electronic vouchers and are only good for booking flights; they cannot be used to purchase other items, such as seats or luggage. Travel Vouchers are valid for one year from the day they were issued, and the person who holds the voucher can use it to plan travel for themselves or anybody else.
