Canada is a dream destination for skilled candidates who want to choose an easy and quick route to permanent residence. With the opening of economy class immigration routes in mid-2022, aspiring candidates need to learn all about the available immigration routes to Canada. The Canadian Immigration Department operates on a point-based system and applicants are required to qualify under the six selection factors specified in the popular Express Entry System Migration Program. The system offers a wide range of options for skilled workers.

The first is FSWP. This category is specially designed for offshore candidates who want permanent residency in Canada and are qualified to contribute to economic growth. The second is FSTP. This category is for applicants’ specialists in their respective fields and is useful for the ones looking for employment opportunities in Canada. Finally, at CEC, Canada targets candidates who have lived onshore to apply for permanent residence and have been working in the country for several years. In addition to these three major categories, there is another state nominee program. This is a special category for applicants who want to apply for PR in a particular locale of their choice.

Regardless of the route of permanent residence chosen, candidates must be able to earn at least 67 out of 100 CRS points to qualify. The CRS (Comprehensive Ranking System) score is the basis of eligibility considering six selection factors. These are language skills, education, work experience, age, arrangements, and adaptability in Canada. There is an upper limit on the points that can be achieved for each of the given factors. You can achieve up to 28 points for language requirements, 25 points for training, 15 points for professional experience, 12 points for age, 10 points for intermediary employment, and 10 points for adaptability.

To earn these points, candidates must first create a personalized profile and participate in the Express Entry Pool. From here, Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada will select and evaluate your invitation request. However, simply creating a profile and completing the requirements does not increase your chances of being selected. There are certain things you need to remember to get a 67-point Canadian Score Calculator.
