If your dog has an anxiety issue or the cat you have cannot stand fireworks, CBD is an effective treatment for them. In this article, we are going to show you how CBD products are good for your pet.

If you love your pet and are proud of your pet, you want to do what’s best for it, for its health which is both mental and physical. Doing what’s best for your pet includes utilizing CBD products made for pets. CBD is popular among humans and has helped make their lives better by alleviating their pain and anxiety. Since humans benefit from CBD, we do not mean to say that animals will also benefit from it. This article aims to guide you on the best dose for your pet and what to look for when you choose a CBD product.

Veterinary World and CBD

CBD is a compound from Cannabis sativa plants that also includes marijuana. CBD has got 10 percent of mind-altering THC compound. For humans, CBD has proved to be useful. According to the “National Center for Complementary and Integrative Health,” CBD relieves humans from pain, reduces or prevents epileptic seizures’ severity, relaxes our muscles, and helps deal with anxiety.

Despite the benefits of CBD, there is only one drug allowed as a CBD-containing drug. It is called Epidiolex. This drug helps in treating seizures. Veterinarians, just like the doctors, can only recommend Epidiolex to animal patients. Some vets would not want to recommend CBD products for your pet because the American Veterinary Medical Association’s explanation of CBD is confusing and unclear.

The entourage effect is produced when you take CBD. You should use lower dosages or fewer doses if you are using the full-spectrum product.  Frontiers in Plant Science reported that Broad-spectrum products have benefited both humans and animals.

CBD for Pets

If CBD products are not regulated by the FDA or do not have veterinarians' support, it does not mean that they are unsafe. There have been studies that have proved that CBD reduced pain scores in dogs with osteoarthritis. One study revealed that sixteen dogs with osteoarthritis were given CBD oil dose twice daily, and it decreased pain. It has also been shown that if you give CBD oil dosage to pups with epilepsy, their seizures’ frequency can be reduced. For these researches, the single compound formula of CBD was used.

Eight hundred thirty-three vets were interviewed on the beneficial effect of CBD products on pets, and 22 percent of these vets answered that CBD was very helpful. And 65 percent of vets reported that CBD products were somewhat useful. This study was conducted by Frontiers in Veterinary Science.  A majority of vets said that CBD helped in the treatment of storm or firework phobias. Isolate CBD products can be more useful rather than full spectrum CBD. There are many online stores, where you can buy CBD online for your pets.

The Final Pick

To sum up, CBD single-spectrum products are good for you, although many vets are not ready to approve of them. CBD products have proved to be useful for pets in treating their illnesses and phobias. For Pet lovers, there is a cure available in the form of single-spectrum CBD products.
