5 years ago, on this very day, the Trawell Blogger’s Journey made a humble beginning. In all these years, a new journey has added each year. With each new chapter, has unfolded a new experience that has added to my life.

2018 Footprints

Each year, when I reach this date, I try to recount the footprints left behind, people I have met along the way and memories that I gathered as I traveled.

This year was all about reliving the places I had been before. I realized that all that we can never meet the true essence of a pace with just one short trip. This is what makes us imperfect which is okay, or else, there is nothing new left to see once we finish the journey.

The true spirit of travel lies in coming back to the same place for something new every single time.

The Flip Side Of Nepal

The year began with venturing the underestimated Himalayan country of Nepal. As Indian travelers, we might often have prejudices about the country and I was no different. My journey to Nepal was about to prove me wrong and thank God it did!

From the fully restored Boudhnath Stupa to the still evolving ancient Patan City, Nepal is a plethora of surprises and spiritually fulfilling. There is a distinct aura in the air that keeps your inner self fixated to the surroundings.

Reminisces of Tawang

The Waterfalls of Tawang

This year was a journey back in time to relive the memories of Tawang, Arunachal Pradesh. After a decade, I was back here to find out how Tawang has changed with time and this small town had many new things to share.

But what remains the same yet is the freshness of the waterfalls, the floating clouds in the valleys and the enthralling beauty of the Himalayas.

Further Beyond Gangtok

Road tripping Gangtok happened with me three years ago. I have been to Gangtok several times for many reasons, but this time, I decided to stretch it beyond the small hill town and explore the unventured side of Gangtok town.

Needless to say, it was worth a journey. The dazzling mirrored waters of Tsomgo Lake is a view one simply cannot afford to miss upon. Ride along the zigzag routes on a misty day (and make sure you have the car window screens open) and you will find the clouds gently floating inside your car.

Reliving the Tinsel Town Of Siliguri

Siliguri as I knew years ago has undergone a change to the extent of ‘cultural shock’. Known for its largest market of ‘crystal decoratives’, Siliguri is also about indulging in its natural beauty, wildlife and slow toy train travel on the Siliguri- Darjeeling Himalayan Railway.

Exploring The Unspoken Secrets Of Pune

Entering into the lift for the SP’s Biryani House restaurant

Pune has been almost a second home to me as I share fond memories with the city. But no matter how much I have been here, Pune never fails to surprise me.

Pune has surprisingly evolved as a foodie hub with varied epicurean dimensions. Be it walking into exclusive breakfast restaurant or Pune’s very own local brand – Sujata Mastani, or for that matter hopping into a Handcrafted Beer Brewery, Pune can get your taste buds into a spin.

Growing Big With Trawellblogging This Year

Five years ago, when I started trawell blogging, people asked me a lot of questions. Who reads your blog? Why should they read it when there are others to read and follow? How is ‘free writing’ online helping you in any way.

This year, life slowly replied. The Trawellblogger went big by getting an opportunity to connect with more people.

Getting invited to Lit Up Festival of Human Library, Nagpur Chapter was an honour and privilege. Getting listed on the Top 100 Travel Bloggers in India came with a surprise, no less.

After a lot of waiting, procrastination and delay, I finally cataloged and self-published my first travel e-book on Amazon Uttarakhand Diaries – The Unspoken Tales from the Mountains. It was definitely not an easy one to write but the journey was fulfilling and rewarding as well.

What Next?

The year end is taking us down South to the coasts of Pondicherry. The blue Bay Of Bengal waters await as we take our journey through the intriguing monoliths of Mahabalipuram and the several beaches dotted along the coastline.

I will share more stories on the way as it happens. Talk to you from the beaches soon….
