Life is stressful, and it’s essential to make time for yourself to relax. Enjoying an at-home spa day is an ideal way to unwind from a stressful week and enjoy some time at home while pampering yourself. The best part about an at-home spa day is that you can stay in your pajamas all day and make your own nourishing products with the help of essential oils. Aromatherapy from single essential oils and essential oil blends can help you really set the scene for your at-home spa experience. Here are some fun DIY ideas for creating a relaxing at-home spa day atmosphere with essential oils.

Running a Soothing Bath

Every at-home spa day should start with a relaxing and rejuvenating bath. You get to wash away all the stresses from the week and prep your skin for some soothing homemade skin products all in one. This is also where the aromatherapy for the day can start. Add a couple of drops of your favorite essential oil blends (as directed), such as a calming essential oil blend, or place lavender essential oil into your bath as you’re running it to help encourage a soothing and relaxing environment.

Creating Your Own Face Mask

You can make several different face masks from scratch right at home with the help of your essential oils. So, what are essential oils adding to your face masks? While the aroma of your essential oils can help you create a relaxing atmosphere, the right oils can also help refresh your skin. Try adding some drops of helichrysum oil to an avocado and honey mask for a lovely floral scent and a nice spa day pick-me-up.

Homemade Skin Scrubs

Making your own skin scrubs is an easy way to encourage silky smooth skin. You can create an invigorating strawberry lime skin scrub with just a few ingredients. All you need is some freeze-dried strawberries, coconut oil, raw sugar, vanilla extract, and three drops of lime essential oil. Crush your strawberries and add them to a bowl with the sugar. Microwave your coconut oil so that it is warm and liquified but not hot when you add in the sugar and strawberries. Add your vanilla extract and lime essential oil, and voila, you have your own homemade scrub.

Making Your Own Natural Moisturizer

After a lovely bath and skin scrub, you’ll want to follow up with a hydrating natural moisturizer. You can make this yourself right at home with shea butter, cocoa butter, coconut oil, and your favorite essential oils. Place the coconut oil and butters into a mason jar, and place it in a pan with boiling water. Let all of the ingredients melt together while occasionally stirring. Once they are combined, you can remove the jar from the water and let it sit for a couple of minutes at room temperature. Add in your essential oils and give one more stir before letting it chill in the fridge.
