Curiouxify is an independent publication created for people who are curious about the parts of the internet that don't always appear in the usual search results. The web has always been more than social media, major platforms, popular apps, and algorithm-driven feeds. Behind them is a much stranger and more creative history filled with personal websites, forgotten communities, experimental projects, interactive pages, digital art, and small ideas built simply because someone wanted to put them on the web.
Curiouxify explores that side of the internet through stories about forgotten websites, internet nostalgia, web history, interactive experiences, browser experiments, creative coding, digital art, experimental web design, and independent web culture.
Some of the websites we explore may be old and difficult to find. Others may still be active but remain relatively unknown. We are interested in both the experience itself and the story behind it. How was a website created? What made it interesting? What did people use it for? How did web technology influence the experience? Did the project disappear, change, or survive? These questions help put individual websites into the larger story of how the internet has evolved.
Curiouxify also looks at older web traditions such as personal homepages, webzines, guestbooks, webrings, userbars, Oekaki communities, Flash websites, and other forms of online culture that were once common but are much less visible today.
The site is created and managed by Asif BC, a web developer and the Founder & Editor of Curiouxify. His background in web development provides a practical perspective when exploring how websites are designed, built, and experienced.
Our approach combines direct exploration when a website is accessible, historical research, archived material, and available sources. We try to distinguish personal observations from established facts and provide further reading when useful.
Curiouxify is ultimately about curiosity. The internet has countless forgotten stories, unusual experiments, and creative projects waiting to be discovered. We want to document some of them and make it easier for people to explore the web beyond its most familiar corners.
