Summon Raging Spirit (commonly referred to as SRS) is a minion spell that temporarily summons a flaming skull that charges at enemies and attacks them.
I want to share my notes since I haven't seen many detailed guides to Act 1. IMO the first 12 levels are the most difficult and clunky part of the build, after that it's smooth sailing til maps.
General notes:
Check Nessa for BBR 3L wands each time you level until you acquire one. Make sure you have enough chaos orbs poe.
Sell UNID rares and magic items for transmute shards, we need at least 1 transmute by level 8 to buy Melee Splash.
After acquiring 2 transmutes, start selling rares and magic items ID'd to build alt shards (need at least 1 alt to get +1 fire gems wand).
By zone:
Strand: kill Hillock, keep the 3 socket RGB wand, get Freezing Pulse as reward in town, sell fireball and buy Fire Trap. We'll be using Fire Trap + Freezing Pulse (with Arcane Surge) until level 8.
Tidal Island: get Quicksilver flask reward.
Submerged Passage: get SRS as reward in town and socket it at level 4 to build XP.
Ledge & Climb: try to hit level 6.5 by end of climb.
Lower Prison: grab Minion Damage gem as reward in town, buy Melee Splash from Nessa.
Upper Prison: try to hit level 8 for Brutus. If you haven't found an Amber Amulet, put 1 point into the +10 strength node like this. Hopefully you have a BBR item by now (doesn't have to be a wand), equip SRS-Minion Dmg-Melee Splash. If you have an extra transmute + alt + BBR wand on hand, at this point you can go for the +1 fire gems recipe.
Cavern of Wrath: pick up Flesh Offering in town as your reward. Buy a high rolled normal Sapphire Ring and a Heavy Belt from Nessa if you haven't found any.
Kill Merveil.
And that's it! The hardest part of leveling is over. After this the main goal is to acquire a 4L BBRR or BBBR +1 minion helm, which can be done after reaching a level 25 zone using a life flask of animation (vendor any life flask + transmute + any bone spirit shield). This will carry us to maps where we can farm Flora's Gift cards in tier 1 Jungle Valley to get a 5L staff.
