Die-casting is a proven process for complex designs, precision engineering of any kind of component, and customization of auto parts. The whole automobile industry including high-end vehicles and luxury car manufacturing depends a lot on the quality of components manufactured and supplied by die-casting processes. As the automobile industry is getting busy with increasing demands for all types of two-wheelers and four-wheelers, the die-casting manufacturing companies upgrading their capacities. The die casting process is an intricate engineering process that needs expert attention in every phase of operation. Die-casting companies operate under expert supervision with total productive management (TPM) and total quality control (TQC).
What is special about die-casting?
The increasing dependability of the automotive industry makes one thing clear to us that die-casting is special and indispensable for the industry. As the technical aspects of cars, bikes, and scooters are getting complicated, the responsibility of die-casting experts like Rockman Industries is increasing day by day. They are not just manufacturing quality products but also researching the die casting process and output enhancement. They are focused on better product development and faster output to meet the varied demands of the market.
Die-casting is always special to the automotive industry because this is the only process to –
Design intricate auto parts in minimum time.Customize auto parts as per the present needs.Obtain precision products with the best possible finishing.Get the output of varied components that require minimum finishing.Obtain cost-effective auto parts that can reduce the price of the end products. The good news is that not just the domestic automotive industry, but the die-cast automotive parts manufactured in India have been exported all over the world today. It’s the relentless effort and engineering evolution of the die-casting sector of the country that has made Indian products so demanding worldwide.
Three die-casting processes
Die-casting is undertaken through three different processes. These three processes are technically and functionally different; however, all three processes are equally capable of manufacturing high-quality die-cast components.
Gravity Die casting (GDC)In this die casting process, the molten metal is injected into the mold by the force of gravity. GDC is the oldest and most traditional die-casting process with better lowest expense. However, GDC is the best process when the components are too complicated. The process also has several advantages such as reduced porosity and improved mechanical features.
Low Pressure Die Casting (LPDC)LPDC is a die casting process where the molten metal is injected into the mold under low pressure that is maintained within 1-15 psi. the mold is generally made of steel or iron. This die-casting process is suitable for manufacturing complex and comparatively larger auto parts with high precision. Its advantages include reduced porosity, minimum turbulence, and high-quality surface finish. For the automotive industry, it’s a cost-effective fast manufacturing process, especially when the auto manufacturers require complex components within a specific time frame.
High Pressure Die Casting (HPDC)HPDC is a die casting process where the molten metal is injected into the mold under high pressure that is maintained above 10000 psi. the mold in this process is designed to withstand high pressure. It typically possesses two halves. HPDC ensures rapid production of intricate auto components with high precision and tight tolerance. The process is very effective in enhancing the production rate when clients need complex parts in high quantities within short deadlines.
Die-casting experts like Rockman Industries have developed expertise in all three die-casting processes. The top-notch die-casting experts have been strictly adhering to the system and product qualities. They first understand the precise requirements of the clients and then follow certain manufacturing processes.
