Different kinds of beer glasses depending on the brew

When you think of the different kinds of glasses that are used to drink beer the first name that you think of is the beer mug. They are also referred to as jars. They are so sturdy that it is incredible and the main reason for that is the fact that thick glass is used to make these products. They normally have two kinds of surfaces – dimpled and smooth. They also have handles that make sure that the beer does not become warm even as you are holding the glass. Some people say that a dimpled glass is better if you wish to appreciate the beer.

Pint glasses

When you think of types of beer glasses, they are a prominent option for sure. There are plenty of options that you have in this case but the commonest among them are the American pint glasses. This is the classic kind of beer glass in the sense that you get your beer in these glasses when you order it at restaurants. Obviously, you can have your beer in tumblers as well. The one glass that is not at all suitable for this is a whiskey glass even if you have got it from a top brand such as Treo.

Beer stein

The steins are pretty similar to the mugs. For that matter, their similarity is such that people tend to confuse them. It cannot be denied that they are pretty similar in terms of shape. However, the steins have levers and hinged lids. This makes sure that you can open the lids without making much of an effort as such. The word stein is actually the shortened form of Steinzeugkrug, which is a German word that means stoneware jug or tankard in English. On top of that, a wide range of materials is used to make the steins.

Last, but not least, on this list are the chalices or goblets. Goblets are bigger and tend to be more extravagant than the other kinds of beer glasses. They have a bit of medieval flair about them. Just visualize the likes of Game of Thrones – or the court of King Arthur, for that matter – and you would understand what we are talking about over here. The goblets and chalices come in a wide range of sizes and this is why they are better than the pints that can only hold a certain amount of beer.
