A lot of people are passionate about writing. However, not all of them can write a great book. Writing a book requires skill, effort, and a lot of dedication. If you are planning to write a book, here are a few writing tips shared by renowned writers like Suhel Seth that can help you:

1 - You should know what you want to write about

If you want to write a good book, you should know what it is about. A good book always revolves around a particular topic. Try to write your topic in one sentence and then elaborate on it. Create a proper outline of the things you want to include. Separate the book into three sections, the introduction, the body, and the conclusion. Now break these sections into chapters and write a table of contents to help guide you as you write. Only when you have a clear understanding of what you want to write, can you write a good book.

2 - You must set a daily target

You can only write a good book and finish it on time when you make writing a habit. To turn it into a habit, make sure you write regularly. Given the busy schedule that most people lead, it can be difficult to take out time for writing every day. However, it is the only way you can write and complete a great book. You do not have to write a lot. Just writing a page every day can do the trick. Try waking up a little early or going off to sleep a little later than your usual time to finish the book. Set a daily target for yourself that you must achieve anyhow. However, make sure it does not take a toll on your sleep.

3 - Choose a particular place for writing

You must always have a particular place for writing. It can be any place like a restaurant or a park. Just make sure that you do not do other similar activities in that area. A specific writing location can help you to be more comfortable. Also, it keeps reminding you of your commitment and goals. Hence, you get more motivated to finish your work faster. You must keep in mind that this is not a thinking place but a writing place.

4 - Ask for feedback

Realising that your work is not up to the mark after completing it can be a real bummer. You will have to start it from scratch again. To avoid this from happening, it is always favourable to take feedback from a few trusted advisors. They can help you to understand your mistakes and tell you how to rectify them. Hence, asking for people’s feedback before finishing is important.
