For cryopreservation of human biological samples, High-Security Straw sealing rods have a unique design and method of filling and sealing that renders them utterly airtight at shallow temperatures. They are employed in medically assisted reproduction procedures, primarily for embryo preservation, and are made of biocompatible materials. The embryo straw is an ionomeric resin tube that is translucent and flexible.

The embryo may be inserted thanks to its disposable, precise filling tip without polluting the hole. During introduction and recovery after thawing, sterility of the embryo is guaranteed by two distinct portions separated by a hydrophobic plug.

The second section allows for the insertion of a colored identification rod, making it easier to identify the embryo in liquid nitrogen. The first part holds the embryo and the nearby dilution solvent.

Identification

A tamper-proof, color-coded identifying straw sealing rod is included in the High-Security embryo straw to ensure sample traceability.

Sealing and Completing

According to a specific technique, straws are filled by aspiration using a micro-aspirator (see detailed product sheet).

The seal's permeability is assured when the straws are sealed using the SYMS sealing technology.
