Bruce Campbell, creator of the Evil Dead franchise, believes it's time to bring back the fun with a new animated series.

Recently, the actor revealed his involvement in an animated "Evil Dead" project and that he'll be lending his voice to chainsaw-wielding Ash Williams. According to Bloody Disgusting, he and director Sam Raimi are actively seeking it out.

Sam Raimi

Bruce Campbell, who retired from his role as Ash Williams in the live-action Evil Dead franchise nearly five years ago due to physical demands, has not ruled out an animated series. According to Bloody Disgusting, he and director Sam Raimi are "actively" pursuing it.

Campbell has become a beloved star in the B-movie/character genre due to his role as chainsaw-wielding Ash in the series and has been associated with it ever since its start in 1981. He's currently promoting his upcoming horror film Evil Dead Rise, set in an apartment building instead of the woods.

Campbell is one of Hollywood's most sought-after B-movie actors, known for creating "Loveable Rogues" that take a lot of abuse and humiliation. He's an excellent speaker with a knack for dry humor; as such, he provided the voiceover narration in all three Spider-Man video games, including its 2012 reboot.

Evil Dead: The Game

Bruce Campbell has retired from live-action Ash Williams, but is eager to return in animated form. According to Bloody Disgusting, he's actively working on an "Evil Dead" project set within the franchise universe that should begin shooting soon.

Video game adaptations of the Evil Dead series have typically featured jughead protagonist Ash Williams fighting Deadites across story-driven, single-player campaigns of varying quality. However, Evil Dead: The Game breaks away from this trend by adopting a gameplay model popularized in games like Left 4 Dead and Dead by Daylight.

Sam Raimi's classic franchise is brilliantly captured, though solo gamers may find the experience unforgiving and frustrating at times. Despite these drawbacks, The Game remains highly recommended for fans of the franchise or anyone seeking a fresh take on the genre.

Evil Dead: The Movie

Bruce Campbell may have retired from his iconic role as Ash Williams in live action, but the veteran actor isn't ruling out a return to that character in animation form. According to Bloody Disgusting, he has been working on an animated 'Evil Dead' project since last year.

In 1981, Sam Raimi and his brother Ted's original film hit theaters to capture audiences' imaginations. It followed an unfortunate expedition into the woods where they discovered a mysterious book written in human blood that contained flesh-eating demons.

Evil Dead Rise, directed by Lee Cronin (The Hole in the Ground), was handpicked by Raimi to create a new entry in the series. Starring Alyssa Sutherland, Lily Sullivan, Gabrielle Echols, Morgan Davies and Nell Fisher, this installment will hit theaters on April 21st.

The Evil Dead franchise is one of the most iconic horror film series ever. Director Sam Raimi continued to push the boundaries of horror with each installment, creating truly unique experiences for audiences.

As a result, the franchise has inspired an entire generation of horror movie makers and filmmakers. It has become an incredibly successful franchise that boasts millions of followers and continues to stir up an ardent fandom.

Bruce Campbell has officially retired from playing Ash Williams on the big screen, but he has confirmed that an animated 'Evil Dead' project is still in development.

Bloody Disgusting recently spoke with Campbell about the animated 'Evil Dead' project and why it is so important to him. He revealed that it is still in development, having worked on it for the last year. This exciting venture promises a bright future!
