Weirdly I remember that I was looking for books by Katie MacAlister when I came across this book. Katie has some great books too. There are series with dragon shapeshifters and another one has vampires. They are funny. This is a fae series about a changeling named Toby Daye AKA October Daye. She was out of commission for a while so life went on without her for fourteen years. It is fourteen years later and she's trying to get on with her life and it is pretty tricky because she did have a child with a human. She is a PI. This is a very fun series and I think if you happen to enjoy the Harry Dresden books you'll probably enjoy this too. I really want a Spike and hell I wouldn't mind a May too. Great characters. Great writing. This was my introduction to Seanan so obviously I'm eager to dive into her other series and other books written under names. I really need to get back to this series. This was just a random find since I don't recall a search for a specific author. This first book in the Betsy Taylor series made me laugh at loud. Even if you aren't a fan of vampire books you might want to give this a try because it is funny and light. Oh yeah she's also Queen Of The Vampires and she has a love for shoes that book lovers can just fill in the blank with books. I really love Betsy and her relationships with Jessica I believe who is her best friend and Kevin a more recent friend. The show that aired on SciFi I believe before the stupid spell change to Syfy is a fun show so check it out too. This is a series about a wizard named Harry Dresden who also happens to be a PI. The world isn't in the know about magic being a real thing. Harry is a really fun character and I love Bob too. Also how could you not love a wizard that has a cat? I'm totally blanking on the name. This is a super fun series. There are just times when you need something a little lighter since some books can get pretty dark. Actually the first book I read by Richelle was in the Dark Swan series which reminds me that I have yet to actually finish a series by this author. That's just weird but true. Oh the fun of library reading. Anyhoo I think I've read five of the six books. This series is complete so you can marathon it. This is about a succubus named Georgina and it focuses more on her life than the actual succubus thing. She works in a bookstore and reads five pages a day. How does someone do that? I guess if you don't have a lot of time but five pages.
I need to get back to this series and finish reading it because I really enjoyed the books I read. I also want to go back to the Dark Swan series too which is complete and only four books. People seem to only talk about her young adult books. If I like an author I check out all the books by them whether they happen to be adult or young adult. I half wonder if anyone else has ever read Rick Riordan's adult books since I've never heard anyone talk about them. I've read them all. I'm on the fence about this one because I really don't like the direction the series went. I really think they should publish two versions one with the long drawn out sex scenes for those who enjoy that and another version for those of us who don't. Anita Blake is a vampire executioner who also raises the dead. I've read up to Skin Trade but people seem to think you should just read up to Obsidian Butterfly. I love the character but over time this badass turned into a succubus and basically she's just fucking every supernatural creature under the moon in order to stay alive. If I was Anita I'd have tried at least to take out a certain character. I am torn on whether or not to continue since part of me wants to because I love the character but the other part doesn't want to have to deal with the boring super drawn out sex scenes. This is a super fun series that I found while at the library. I think the whole series including a novella is available on Kindle Unlimited. This is kind of like Buffy all grown up and married with kids. This series is complete so you can binge it. It is just light and fun. I love Kate and she has a best friend. The two best friends also have two daughters that are best friends. It has great friendships. I was actually looking for a Tanya Huff book when I saw this book. I saw the three words and pulled it off the shelf and fell in love with this series. The series is complete although a prequel or something was recently released. In this world people know about witches, vampires etc. There's an interesting take on vampires. Rachel's a badass witch who is a magical bounty hunter. She lives with Ivy a vampire and Jenks is a partner and oh yeah he's a pixie but he's a damn awesome one. I believe I was looking for a Piers Anthony book when I stumbled across this one. There was a series on Syfy that aired for I want to say two seasons. Yep this is one of those books where I don't understand a certain couple but I do enjoy the series.
It starts off with Elena a werewolf and the other werewolves in their pack but other magical beings are added in and it becomes more witchy than werewolfy so even if you aren't that crazy about wolves you might want to check it out for the witchy parts. I believe this series is complete so you can marathon it and check out the TV show. I watched a few episodes but never got into it.
Check out the TV show that aired on Lifetime called Blood Ties. I thought that was a weird place to put it and later on the same mistake was made with Witches Of East End. She also has some fantasy books and I would swear there's one with a talking cat.
Vicky is a private investigator. She used to be a cop but had to quit because of an eye condition. Oops there's kind of a theme here but this would be the first one of the supernatural PI books since I discovered this author years ago and hello this is a Canadian author. I believe Kelley Armstrong is too and guess what this series takes place in Canada.
Vicky ends up finding out that there's weirdness in the world like magic and vampires. Enter Henry Fitzroy. Seriously you really should check out the show since the casting was just awesome. I loved seeing them brought to life on the screen even though I'm still salty about it getting booted off the air. There are six books so you can marathon this series.
