Functional and beautiful kitchens

You're about to build your dream kitchen. Your mood board displays your must-haves and aesthetic. You hired someone. You've combed design periodicals and websites for kitchen trends. You've chosen cabinets, countertops, backsplashes, and floor tiles. Have you considered kitchen storage?

In addition to its beauty, your kitchen bathroom renovations should have various aspects. Everything from minor appliance storage to garbage management has a viable answer. These kitchen techniques will make your kitchen more functional and delightful to use without losing appearance.

Deep drawers

More drawers are multipurpose. Once designated for little items like cutlery and tea towels, they now come in a variety of sizes. Everything but the kitchen sink fits. Traditional bottom cabinets getting phased out isn't shocking.

Several soft-close dampening devices can be fitted on drawers to make them 100% silent, independent of closing force. They're utilitarian and quiet a busy environment. Here are additional kitchen storage tips.

Vertical drawers

Instead of arranging things horizontally in a drawer, try vertically. Organize cutting boards and shallow baking dishes in a tall drawer with dividers. Baker? Cake pans, pie plates, muffin tins, and cookie sheets go here.

Appliance storage

You may have many little appliances. You may also use a slow cooker, mixer, or sparkling water machine. These appliances make your kitchen look cluttered and reduce food prep space. Putting them in the back of a cupboard makes them difficult to find.

Fantastic! Kitchen storage options exist so appliances are accessible and dust-free. They reduce kitchen clutter.

Garage appliances

A garage for tiny appliances is a cupboard or compartment. Consider adding electrical outlets to this kitchen must-have so appliances are always charged. You can configure your kitchen to store all small appliances together or by task (breakfast necessities, for example).

Consider the appliance nook's door.

Mini garage-style roll-up doors are perfect for small kitchens. They can be partially or fully opened and are suitable for multiple-shelf top cabinets.

Lifting doors are easy to open and close, saving room. They're ideal for modern, compact kitchens.

Retractable pocket doors make an appliance garage easy to access. This method is useful when the storage nook is in a corner with limited space. Pocket doors can match your other cabinet doors, making this a win-win solution.

Corner cabinet optimization

U-shaped or L-shaped kitchens require corner cabinets. Accessibility issues result. You have to get on all fours to reach a deep drawer's roasting pan. With well-thought-out accessories, corner cabinets can become more functional.

Wonderland

Lazy Susans are old. This turntable helped with storage. Magic Corner is a new storage solution that unfolds outside the cabinet for easy viewing and access.

Drawer nook

The corner drawer keeps little items in unused space. Use its odd shape to store batteries, scissors, and oven mitts.

Pantry organisation

Deep pantries appear like a terrific way to store dry products and extra supplies. Since we tend to focus on easily accessible goods, those towards the bottom can be neglected. Consider these pantry design recommendations.

Slide-out vertical pantry

If you've always wanted a walk-in pantry but lack the space, consider adding sliding drawers to your regular pantry. Peanut butter, cereal boxes, and potato chip packages are easy to find in a dry goods department.

Pantry pull-out

Build a pull-out pantry to make food more accessible. This approach lets you see all information from both sides of the sliding panel, so nothing is forgotten or hidden. Each time you seek for something, you have to pull out the entire pantry.

Pull-out mini-pantry

Create a little pantry in one of your lower cupboards, preferably near the kitchen. This kitchen must-have stores oils, spices, and condiments for convenient access when cooking.

Once you've chosen a system, you can optimise it by choosing the correct containers.

Manage trash and cleaners

Garbage and cleaning supplies can also benefit from innovative storage methods.

Wastebasket built-in

While there are cool freestanding models, your kitchen will look more streamlined if you hide it. When planning your kitchen, include a waste can. You should have a trash and recycling bin. If space allows, add a compost bin. Built-in garbage bins near the sink or under an island's work area improve ergonomics.

Cleanup drawer

The cabinet behind the sink probably provides the least practical kitchen storage space in the kitchen due to the mess of plumbing pipes. Instead of reaching around pipes to retrieve that bottle of oven cleaner, why not build a sliding drawer? Another decluttering solution for the design of your kitchen storage would be to fully replace the cabinet with a large drawer.

Using the toe-kick space

Nothing looks more aesthetically attractive than floor-to-ceiling kitchen cabinetry. But this leaves many objects on the top shelf out of the reach of the more vertically challenged. You will need to rely on a little stepladder sooner or later.

A step stool could also come in handy for the little ones: you might want them to start emptying the dishwasher and putting away the cutlery and dishes. Whatever they’re doing, it’s never easy to reach up high to put things away.

The solution: build a drawer in the toe-kick under cabinets. The step stool will then be immediately available yet hidden in an otherwise useless space.

Killing two birds with one stone with a plinth drawer

It is also feasible to install a plinth drawer, or space step, which acts as both more kitchen storage space and a robust step stool that locks and keeps securely in place. Now youngsters and adults alike can securely reach the uppermost shelf.
