The cover of your book should be perfect enough as most of the people judge your book from its cover. It is advisable to have a detailed discussion with your book cover designer and explain the context of the book with him in detail. Tell him about the general plot, themes and moods discussed in the book. Other things which must be talked in detail to a book cover designer are - the target audience, the format of the book (for example hard cover or softcover) and the essential elements which you want to include in the book.
